This ruined my day, I thought I got a deal when I bought my T3 for $300 after rebates. Office Depot has new, in stock T3s for $199. Link below.

Thought the same thing when I got mine. While currently $199 there is none available ( Insufficient Stock) in my area, northeast Ohio.

This seems to be a price mistake. If you look at the price of the Tungsten E on the Office Depot site it says - list price $199, our price $399. Looks like someone screwed up royally! Meanwhile, I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of T3's at my local store for 199 each less a 30 off coupon! Looks like I may retire my Sony NR70V. :D

I was able to order one even though my local store is "out of stock". Maybe one of the other 10 or 12 in my area has one or there's one somewhere in central TX. The order confirmation has a delivery date of 01/05/04. We'll see.

I posted an order but it said it was back ordered so do we think that they will honor it or what?

The T3 is now $398 on the Office Depot web site. But the TE is still $399.

I guess if you are really daring, you could buy the Tungsten E for $400 and then take an add from another store into Office Depot and have them price match plus 10% or whatever it is. Then you could return the Tungsten E back to Office Depot. You make $200.:)

Office Depot sent me a confirmation of my order, or back order, and listed the current price as $199. I suspect that the order will simply not get filled. I have had that happen to be before, where the unit stays on backorder for ever or until you kill the order, then you can get one purchased quickly ... but at the new or in this case correct price... time will tell... just two cents...

Well mine wasn't backordered. Said it was supposed to arrive on 1/7. Here's the current status:

Not looking too good.

Don't they have to legally honor this price?

I don't think so. You will probably be charged the $398.

Same here. I've often wondered what their legal obligation is when a price is posted on the web and you've placed an order. I called their customer service line and they said that it was just a big mistake and there is nothing they could do, but you would think they would have to honor orders which were placed against that price? Any legal eagles here?

Don't they have to legally honor this price? Retailers protect themselves from such mishaps. Read the fine print...

Many states have Consumer Protection Acts that protect consumers from this sort of thing, especially if it turns out that the retailer was also selling the item to walk-in customers for the same price.

Guess what? The price error was system-wide and nation-wide. Yesterday and this AM walk-in customers have been sold the T|T3 for $199! Check out this link (http://discussion.brighthand.com/palmhandhelds/showthread.php?s=&postid=275858#post275858) to another forum discussing this very same thing!

If I were you, I would go to a local store and pitch a fit until they honor the price.

Third time was a charm for me today. I stoped by a OD store and got the whole "sold out, price was a mistake, no more in stock @ that price, yada yada yada." Understandable.

I tried Staples, they called the store and got the $398 price quote and said "sorry."

I tried CC and found a girl @ the CS counters that was like "sure, ok" and then the guy ringing me tried to look it up but didn't see the price...."Must be one of those things where the price shows up once you actually check out." Sure, ok...LOL Then the website showed none available.....but he checked another zip and showed one available. SO, the girl and guy got together and decided they better check w/ a manager. Fortunately for me the manager was too busy to worry about it and said "YEah, sure."

I now have my T3! Gonna go let my T3 and T608 play together.

I called our OD and got mine for 199 (plus tax). Thanks sooo much, I was already to buy the Tungsten E from Circuit City on-line and decided to check here one more time.

Note, there are 5 ODs in my city (Tulsa). The first OD I called quoted 399 and knew nothing about the 199 price. Since postings on Brighthand were dated today, I called another OD and they quoted the 199 and the store manager was shocked and she honored the 199. So, if you have more than one OD, call until you get one that has the 199.:)

Well, that will teach me to skip checking out messages here for even one day! I was waiting for a low price to buy my T3 and it's clear that the OD people have figured this out by now (1/3 at 4:30PM EST). The link at the top of the thread comes back with the $399 price.

Bummer!

Thanks to those sharp-eyed people that put the info on the board, though. PLEASE do it again if there's a low price. I am going nuts waiting to get this, as my old Visor Deluxe died about 12/22.
