probelm please help

when i use the pen that the zire 71 comes with it works fine on the main screen. but once u get off the amin screen some icons become very difficult to press.
I NEED ANY SUGGESTIONS TO HELP

Did you try recalibrating your digitizer? Go to the prefs, and tap on digitizer. Follow the directions.

My daughter has a Zire 71 that when I try to calibrate the digitizer, it goes into an endless loop. In other words, it never stops trying to calibrate. A hard reset stops it, but when I try and click on an icon, it misses.

Any suggestions??

It sounds like your daughter's digitizer is defective. My wife had a Sony unit that had that same problem. Is your daughter's PDA under warranty? If so I would use it. If not, some retailers like Comp USA or Best Buy let you get a service plan after the purchase but require 30 days to authorize any repairs needed.
