One of the complaints I hear about the Zire 71 is the low sound volume, and I agree the speaker is very weak---or so I thought.
All sounds/music coming from the device was very weak, sometimes barely audiable, even with the Palm sound preferences cranked up to High.
But then I installed the Lemmings (fun little game if you ever played the PC version), and I was blown away by how loud it was! Sound was absolutely clear and loud, although it made the PDA vibrate a little.
That means that there is a perfectly good speaker restricted by the OS preferences setting, and if there was any way to enable it louder, it would be great.
I've found the freeware "Volume 2.0" that is a volume control utility, but it says it's only for OS 3&4, so I'm reluctant to try it.
Anyone else try it, how know of any other options available?
