Is there any software I can use to clean up the RAM in a way similar to registery clean-up under windows? Because I always think there are some not needed files taking up the memory.
Thanks

What makes you think that?
When deleting apps, make sure they're in RAM first and use the delete from the default OEM launcher.
The answer is no not really, you basically have to do it manually. Deleting the right way helps eliminate any leftover debris.

I use SysTool for cleaning by looking at the Creator ID's and compare them with the Creator ID database.

that creator ID website is a great help! thanks so much!!!
Uninstall Manager will add a preventative measure for future installations and uninstallations. If you use it now you can worry a whole lot less about this type of situation in the future.:)

:) And Roy Perry (the developer) is very responsive and a cool person in general.

install manager is pretty expensive for what it does. hard for me to justify 15.00 for a app I may use once a month.

I've noticed that some apps I've removed have left behind those a68k cache files on my NX70V and I can't delete them. How to get rid of those?

No kidding. That's what I may have to do but it's kind of like killing the cat to get rid of the fleas, or throwing the baby out with the bathwater, or... you get the idea.

You mean SysTool, LeftOvers, FileZ, Cleanup, System Analyzer DA, or similar apps can't delete it?

You could go into your backup directory, look for the locked files (they should be in there somewhere...). Then use a hex editor (HHD Hex Editor is what I use) to change a bit to a 0 (oh, say, something starting at 21h... if the value is 41, change it to 01). That might ditch the lock-protection. Then just HotSync them across and use McFile or something to delete them.

When all else fails, do a WARM RESET.
Ok, very simple, you have to delete the application before it's loaded into the operating system. Once it's loaded, the operating system protects itself from crashing by locking the application.
By using the warm reset, it allows you to prevent the application from loading into the operating system. This way, it can be deleted without crashing the Clie.
You can do a warm reset, which is done by holding the page Up button while pushing in the reset button on the backside of the Clie with the pin from inside your stylus. This won't load anything so there will be no Virtual Graffiti area either. Hit Ctrl-H on the keyboard, go to the Clie Files(file manager), then you can delete the desired application. Afterwards, you then need to do a regular reset by using the little pin from inside your stylus to push the reset button in the backside of your Clie.
I hope this helps, it has worked for me. Originally posted by cbulock and reused with slight modification...Thanks!

I had a problem that I couldn't delete the status bar from Okey on my Clie. I was just about to do a hard reset and Carmen Bulock came to the rescue!

You can't so don't worry about them. They are the result of using apps made for the Motorola Dragonball 68000 processors aka Palm OS4 apps. They will come back every time you run one of those apps which is a ton of them.
