I want to install Graffiti 1 on my T3, but I don't have a T or a SD card. The WinZip archive that contained the files I downloaded said that I should use Palm RAM Disk to create a virtual SD Card to install it. I followed the instructions and have one set up (Zlauncher can read it, as can Card Info and Filez) but when I try to do a HotSync installing to the card as the file says, I am unable to.

How can I get HotSync to install to Palm RAM Disk?

TIA

dws90,

try copying then pasting the files directly to the palm\launcher folder of PalmRAMDisk using card export.

hi guys,

got this description of PalmRAMDisk 1.0.2 from PalmGear. works on my TungstenT3! just like dws90, my virtual SD card can also be seen by zlauncher & card info & can be seen at windows explorer using card export.

"You've bought the magnificent Palm device with expansion slot. You've got a few memory cards for it. What do you do when your Palm buddy want to pass you some of the JPEG photos of his lovely baby? NO CAN DO!

RAM Disk comes to the rescue. Not only you can use RAM Disk as intermediate memory storage when transfering files using 3rd party file manager, such as Filez and McFile, it also helps you in the following way:

1. It helps you to minimize the number of memory cards you have to bring. Thus, reduce the risk of loosing the precious memory cards.

2. Store files in RAM Disk, and you won't have to worry about forgetting which memory card to bring.

3. If you find the real memory card is too slow, RAM Disk can speed it up. RAM Disk is up to 4 times faster then the real memory cards.

4. For developers, RAM Disk also offers the direct file access with internal memory. You can now save/read plain files with hierarchical file directory on internal memory, as with external memory cards. No more using Database Manager for data stored on internal memory, and VFS (Virtual File System) API for accessing files on external memory cards. You can use VFS for files stored on both internal and external memory storage."
