Is there a way to measure GPRS data transfer amount (in bytes or bits) on Treo 600 ?

Or shall we need an application for this ?
Is there any application for this purpose ?

Thanks...

There is an application called KBTracker at URL:
http://www.pdaapps.com/KBTracker/

but it is not free..

Do we (Treo 600 owners) need it or is there a free way of seeing data information ?

ý tried KBTracker. It does not show any data on Treo 600. I guess it does not currently support Treo600...

I tried KB Tracker also, but with no success. I read somewhere that it was for older model Treo's. Apparently they are working on an upgrade.

I am having the same dilemma. I know that's not an answer, but at least you're not alone - He he!

I know Phoenix. PdaApps will release a new version KBTracker soon (I assume)

Went back to check their website today, but it still says they're working on a Treo 600 update at the bottom in red.

I hope it is soon, because I have just ordered 15Mb GPRS starting on the 15th. I had 3Mb free trial, and I'm fished in. The problem is that I wouldn't have a clue how much I have used, and the going rate is £2 p/Mb when you go over your limit here with Orange UK. There is also no way of checking what you're up to, you can't even ring in (like with your free minutes) to see how much you have left.

I gather you haven't found anything else huh ikera?

Anyone try TrafficStat (http://www.hexlet.com/Products/trafficstat.html)?

Like KB Tracker, not for us just yet. Funnily enough I personally don't care too much about all the complexities of some of these apps. I just want to be able to track my usage, if I want to compare months, days and best plan or what ever I'll use a spreadsheet and monitor it myself... But that's just me.

I am, how ever, so ready for a KB tracker of some kind!

it's weird that a company like Pdaapps could not still create a new version that supports Treo 600.
is it that hard ?

Hey gfunkmagic,

TrafficStat works well with my Treo 600. Simple program that gives me the info I need in order to track my email and web usage.

Thanks for the tip :)

fincat30 and gfunkmagic,

are you sure that TrafficStat works onyour Treo 600 ?
if so is your Treo 600 GSM model ?
which firmware do you use ?

ilkera,

Yes, I tested TrafficStat, and it tracks both my email and web browser's sending and receiving KB data. I just need to see how close TrafficStat's KB data matches my service provider's KB data; but from what I can already see, it is pretty darn close.

Yes, I have the Treo 600 GSM "unlocked" version; and it uses Palm OS 5.2.1.

Quite frankly, I got tired of waiting for the KB Tracker application (http://www.pdaapps.com/KBTracker/) to support the Treo 600; so I bought the TrafficStat application instead. I do not know if KB Tracker will work better than TrafficStat or not; but I do not care because TrafficStat does what I want it to do.

Hope this helps.

Hey I tried it now. the latest version works really fine. Then we don't need the KBtracker application. Pdaapps is LATE !

Now I really want to upgrade the Treo 600 firmware to 2.09. But I'm not that sure that it'll work fine.
any idea ?

Good, I'm glad you like TrafficStat. I do too.

As far as the firmware question is concerned, I would suggest contacting Palm or Handspring to ask that question. Wouldn't want your Treo to get hurt ;)

finecat30,

so you didn't upgrade ? I contacted Handspring asking them if it will be "ok" that I upgrade with the file I have.
But they do not say anything about that file.
