Hello...
I purchased my Tungsten C about 6 mos ago. I love it..!!!! But I do have the BOSS problem, but I found if I just fiddle with the digitizer I can get it to work (not the best solution, but I can't part with my T|C for 1 week... or more.. ). That's not the problem though, I can't seem to be able to update my T|C using the update provided by palm (http://www.palmone.com/us/support/downloads/tungstenc/tungstenc_update.html). I did check the ROM version for my palm and it did say: 50 4/01/03 23:5 which is "IMPORTANT: This update is only required if you are running Tungsten C Software Version 50 4/01/03 23:5." Everytime I tried to run it from the palm it says incorect version (something like that). I have a coworker who has the same problem.

I was wondering if anybody out there has the same problem. I emailed palm support and they responded with a solution, but it still did not fix it. It told me to do a hard reset and start fresh, nope - didn't work

Does anybody have a solution??? please...???
Does anybody care ... :(

Thanks in advance...

NEW INFO - the message actually said "This tool will not run on this device"

There are two versions of the update available. You are probably using the wrong one. As I recall one version is for US/Canadian TC's and the other version is for all other TC's. When I downloaded the update, both were available on the same web page and you selected the one appropriate for your TC.

Hi Fern,
I actually saw that, and I did download the version for US/Canada. Thanks for the reply though.

Okie ... I got it to update. It turned out that I had to use the English non US/Canda, even though I bought it here in Canada. Thank you to Fern that gives the idea to try the other version of the update. It just never crossed my mind to try the other one cause... I bought it in Canada... (I would assume that I should use the US/Canada version).

Thanks for everything, especially you Fern.

YAY....:) :D :o :p :D

I'm glad I could help. I have heard of other people who had to use the non US/Canada version even though they had bought their TC in either the US or Canada.

Glad you got it worked out. I think you should definitely consider getting it swapped out for a new unit. My turnaround was pretty quick and the new unit works great. It was hard to get by for a week and a half without it, but amazingly it survived.

Units with BOSS are deffective and should be returned to get them out of circulation.
