I've seen a few good ones that are only limited demos. And I don't intend to pay for SMS, I'd rather just suffer through typing on my phone. So are there any free alternatives that allow you to SMS using a cable connection to your phone?

I think I phrased it incorrectly. What I'm looking for is a free SMS _program_ for my clie that can send messages to my cell using a cable. I pay $2.99 a month for the SMS service, so I know that's not free.
