can't download docs! *sniff*

Boy, I'm really getting frustrated. Okay. I don't have any documents on my handheld. I'm trying to download some in the docs to go. I downloaded them before, but they aren't there now. Now when I try to drag and drop the files into the 'docs to go' software on the desktop, it says I need to create a unique name for each file and wants to rename all of them by ending the file name with '_1'. Natch, I don't want that! I've tried deleting the files in all the backup folders and that doesn't work. Anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong?
