I've had my Zire 71 for about 6 months now

I use and recommend the following programs:

A-LEX Dictionary (Dictionary program .. useful for checking spelling)
Aeroplayerm (Mp3 Player)
BeamPro (Beams almost any file from your palm to another)
Kinoma Player/Producer (watch Kinoma format movies on your pda)
MMPlayer 0.2.5 (player now with MPEG-1 support)
Splashphoto (picture viewer)
TextPlus (word guesser)
Zlauncher (file manager/theme manager)

I also have the hard case (Aluminium) for the Zire 71 as the leather case was still letting me turn it on when it was in my pocket. And it has saved my pda once when i dropped it hehe

I have written a post with tips on making movies for the Zire 71

I just want to say the Zire 71 is great, my previous PDA was a Sharp ZR-5800FX. I don't use the camera very often but its useful on special occassions. But i use Aeroplayer and Kinoma to play mp3s and movies on the train ride to and from work everyday hehe.
