Is there any way to make infrared transfers between Palm and Pocket PC? I know it would be useless to transfer Calendar dates and things, but since I have D2G 6 w/ native Word and Excel support, and he has pocket word and pocket excel, that would be useful. Also, the transfer of mp3s, or w/e music files we have back and forth would be a nice side idea.

I know that ReceiveIt lets a palm recieve any file through infared, but is there a similar equivalent for pocket pc?

Thanks. You guys are always here to save me and my happy Tungsten E

I have personally transferred my business card to a PPC, but wasn't able to transfer the same back. However, this was with Palm OS 3.5 and PPC2002.

As for DTG6, ABSOLUTELY. I was able to beam a Word.doc to a Toshiba e330 and the Toshiba was able to beam one back. No problems at all.

I don't know about other files such as pics and MP3s.

for this to work, do I need the recieveit program for my palm, or can it be done standalone?

AND

the business cards should work b/c they are in vCard format correct? i'm using Palm OS 5.2.1 and Windows Mobile 2003 (I guess that's PPC2003, but i'm not sure)

I guess trial and error will be the key thing here

I'll be happy to post the results when I get done my trials.

Thanks for the quick reply.

well, i was finally able to try it out and...

The vCard was OK!
D2G was OK!

I didn't feel like getting recieveit for the other things. I'll have to try the pics another time.

Hello Thank you for trying Receiveit.
To my understanding, Pocket PC will accept any kind of files, so I don't think anyone would need tools such Receiveit on their Pocket PC devices.

We will include more information how to setup and use Receiveit in the upcoming version.
