I just got through loading 23 movie trailers converted at 1200 kbps for the Kinoma Player, Version 2.0.4. I consider this Medium Quality, while I have the same trailers in Low Quality (720 kbps) and High Quality (2000 kbps) that I will be uploading in the future.

As for the movie trailers I have loaded, they are compatible with 320 x 480, Palm OS5 devices. I will load trailers for other devices (i.e. 320 x 320) as I have time or as requested.
Thanks!

The new high quality movies won't download. I get
You are not authorized to download this file.
This actually happens if you haven't fully activated your account. You should check the email address you specified in your account for instructions on how to fully activate your username.
Anyone else having this problem? I've downloaded several movies before & am properly logged in.

I just got through loading 22 more 480 x 320 movie trailers converted at 2000 kbps for the Kinoma Player, Version 2.0.4. I consider this High Quality, while I have most of the same trailers in Medium Quality (1200 kbps). I will be loading more in the future as requested.

Thanks a lot for your effort!
But why I can't play it in my NR70? I can play the movie but no audio at all.

But why I can't play it in my NR70? I can play the movie but no audio at all. Unfortunately, the sound settings are different for the NR series. In addition, the CPU speed of the NR is slower than the Palm OS 5 devices. In order for me to make these trailers more generic, I would have to lower the frame rate, the bit rate, and change the stereo sound to mono. These settings would be less than ideal when using them on the Palm OS 5 devices.
What is the frame rate you used for high resolution clips 15 fps? Just curious.

Complete Answer: For all conversions, I have used the default settings for the T3, Palm -> Tungsten T3 (Wide), except for changing the bitrate (1200 kbps - Med, 2000 kbps - High) and the background color. The default settings are as follows:
Video Format: Cinepak Mobile
Frames Per Second: 15 fps
Bit Rate: 720 kbps
Audio Format: ADPCM
Audio Channels: Stereo
Sample Rate: 22.050 kHz
Compression Ratio: 2:1
Audio Boost: None
Layout (Screen Size): 480 x 320
Movie (Video Size): 480 x 320
I have actually converted some trailers with a video frame rate of 30 fps, a video bit rate of 2000 kbps, and an audio rate at 44.100 kHz. Not really settings that make a noticeable difference, but they do work.
I hope this helps...

I`m amazed about the good quality. Thanks for all this work.
I`ll buy tomorrow a SD Card for more free space.
The only file, that is still missing, is the Gladiator trailer.
It would be great if he is somewhen on the web available because I can`t convert in that goog quality yet.

I ditched my Tungsten for the Treo 600 to avoid having to lug 2 machines around. The downside of that is of course, video.
Any chance these trailers can be converted for the Treo 600 screen size?
Many Thanks.

Can you tell me how you can encode trailer that play at full screen. I used Kinomer Producer 2 and manage to play at full screen BUT there always still a bar at the left side, WHY?

It depends on the size of the video. If the video width is greater than 448 or so, then the T3's status bar is not displayed. I think Kinoma would have to update the player to disable the status bar for video width's less than 448-pixels.
Note: 448 pixels is an educated quess. It is somwhere around 448, but I have not asked Kinoma or tested this out. I just know that T3's screen is 448 x 320 with the status bar enabled and 480 x 320 with the status bar disabled. On the Sony UX, the screen is 450 x 320 with the status bar enabled, and 480 x 320 with the status bar disabled.
I hope this helps.

THANKS!
You are right.....I am encoding some 4:3 video and display in wide mode, so there are black bars on the left and right.
...the solution I came up with is somewhat stupid...I shifted the whole thing to the right and the control bar disappeared!!!

Hey Lance I asked for Scarface for the Treo but when I downloaded it it said that the file had no width or height. I would really like this trailer. Thank you.

I have downloaded the Scarface trailer, and I do not have any problems running it. Are you sure you are running the latest version of Kinoma Player (2.0.4)? If not, here is the link to download 2.0.4. If you are, let me know, and I will look into further.

nice info, thx. do you know the settings for the default Kinoma Producer package (1.0?) that ships with the Tungsten T3? I really want to determine if it's worth the $30 upgrade to have all of the customization. I suspect your answer to this is yes, since the stuff I've encoded isn't very impressive. Thanks for any advice.

all the 160x160 movies i've tried look skewed (horizontally squeezed from sides). 320x320 movies are normal, but bleed off the sides of the screen, so i can't use them.
i'm using a treo 600, which has 160x160 rez.
is this normal? can i fix this by changing a setting in kinoma? or is this a result of the way the video was converted to kinoma format?
