I trialed the beta version from the company. I thought it was nice, but somewhat complex. If I used it on a daily basis, I would like it allot, but I don't rely on it. The previous version was easier to use and took up allot less space. I would demo it and see what you think. I bet it would take a good 2-4 weeks of use to really understand it. You can definately keep all aspects of your patient's care in it and it's nice to look up patients, labs, meds, etc. The problem is the input process. Can take a while and I don't know if they have developed a desktop version yet. If they do and you can dowload to the program, this thing would be great.

I believe the website says that the enterprise version has a desktop application that will sync to your handheld. The Personal version does not. I agree, the input process seems very long, although it's been awhile since I've tried it. Desktop input would make it alot nicer. If you want a smaller memory footprint you might try WardWatch, which also has a desktop app.

I've been using the older version for 3 years. The good: it's small, 340k vs 2mb for version 3.0; it's a single app, vs the multiple "modules" in 3.0; data entry is fast, and the screens are the closest I've seen to the way I like to chart; I have lots of drop-down lists for repetitive entries ( case names, drugs, MDs, etc...). The bad: no desktop program for data access/management. We've been complaining about this for years now, and it wouldn't take a genius to write a simple program (for the old version) that converts your Palm/Clie data into a database or spreadsheet. But no one has, and that ability isn't available in the personal edition of 3.0. I had my Palm crash, requiring a hard reset, and although I had been hotsyncing and backing up regularly, I lost almost 2 years worth of patient data which I'm just finishing manually restoring. If I had a desktop version, that never would have happened. Specific complaints for 3.0 - as I said, it's modular, so you're jumping around just to access/input data that should be all in one place. That's the beauty of the older version. I suggest getting several different patient tracking apps and seeing which fits your practice. There are very good programs out there that can be tied in to your office system for coding/billing and extensive patient data management.
