I rang Orange to check out the legal way of going about it. Basically you need to buy out you contract plus a £20 admin fee. I got my Treo for £99 on the 120 / £25 p/m contract. So after another £320 I could basically not worry about monthly line rental bills, just what ever I use over my 120 free anytime, anyone minutes.

I am thinking about it. Apart from the initial blow to the wallet, I will just be spending what I would spend at the end of the year anyway. I go to Spain quite regularly, where I have a Vodafone SIM which I'd like to use without any hassle.

I also rang a company I found over theInternet called LogosUnlimited who claim to be able to unlock your mobile. But it was late at night, and the person "in the know" wasn't there. I'll try again Monday morning before heading off to Spain to see what the options are and what can be done.

So there are options out there.

I ramg LogosUnlimited yesterday - and they told me they could not unlock the Treo... Methinks it is quite likely that paying off your contract up front, and paying the admin fee is the only way to go. At least it is possible....

but since you change the simcard the prob goes on: unautorized simcard with this phone....

The procedure seems to be ok.

except thatyou have to pay for the code and no garanty.

Does anybody have a master code generator for orange...? If not the only solution is to wait 6 months (after is free charge from the provider and without risk....) or to pay for ? The best i thing is to pay the operator so you have a real garanty of success and hotline if prob....

I hope that a good guy has a real solution.......

Hey Nestor, I believe I read the same thing fron you at Treocentral.

The unlock thing has been heavily discussed there, but so far I don't remember anyone coming up with any sort of wonderful solution for the Treo 600. It seems like at the moment one needs to pay of the contract they entered into and agreed upon before being released from it - just to make it sound rather ominous and devilish! - He he!
