Stock Manager.

The only problem I've had with it is my stocks have kept going down since I started using it.
The app is worth every penny. Graphs stock performance, can set up multiple portfolios, watch lists, alerts etc., gains and losses.

ok i got stock manager and installed it but how do i get my stocks in here? i entered a few to test in the palm side - and they erase whenever i hotsync! i looked at the conduit in hotsync manager and it does say "desktop overwrites handheld" but i can't find any option to change it to "synchronize"... how do i work this thing? looks great though :)

The demo is fully functional, but it is limited to three securities. I used it for several months, before buying it, just to track three indexes. The symbols it uses are from Yahoo, if i remember correctly. Some times they are a little different, depending on your quote source. Make sure you check the box to enable the conduit in hotsync manager, and select the correct connection under the connection tab in the hotsync conduit. Desktop overwrites the handheld, I believe is the only option, because handheld prices should always be older than the ones downloaded to the desktop.
It also has a password protection option.
Are you sure the stocks you entered erased? Make sure All is selected in the top edge of the screen on you Palm. That combines all the portfolio into one, in the event you somehow got them into different portfolios. You also have to check own it for it to be included in you cost and value totals at the bottom. That allows you to enter stocks you want to track, but not screw up your owned portfolio values.

hmmm... all these things check out. but whenever i enter even one stock (microsoft for example), and hotsync, it gets wiped out totally (leaving me with a blank port on the handheld)... i've uninstalled and reinstalled like 5 times. what the f.

Stock Manager is very nice love this app.
You may want to check your port settings and the conduit settings. I had problems at first with this app.

Maybe it's an NX thing. I'm using a NR, but it says it is OS5 compatable. You did use the symbol MSFT didn't you. Also on the stock entry screen, put in yesterday's date for the date, otherwise it won't update until tomorrow. And it does show "all "on the main screen at the top just to the right of "Stock Manager". Once I though all my stocks had disappeared and it turned out I just had switched portfolios. All shows all stocks entered, regardless of portfolio.
One other thing, make sure it says "Active" right under "Stock Manager" on the main screen. If it says "Closed" tap the folder to toggle to Active. Closed lists stocks you have indicated you have sold.

i think i have to contact tech support... this thing certainly looks to have promise but i can't get it to work. wipes out my portfolio (even one stock) every hotsync. all settings look right... checked and triple checked... unless i'm not entering stocks right?

clieZilla2,
Wasn't sure if you saw my last post, since our post times were the same. And I edited it with another suggestion.

It never ceases to amaze me how many different types of apps there are for the PalmOS.

cliezilla I am sorry you are having such difficulty. Call tech support and get it worked out. Trust me when you get this app working right there is nothing that comes close to the potentials of this app when it comes to stock tracking. I installed mine about 2 months ago and its nice to look at all the stocks I have listed and tracked to see them rise and fall over that period. Helps when I am considering a certain stock.

definitely looks promising - if i can just get it to work i'll be pumped!
Have you ever got it to work?
I saw on the StockManager forum at Tinystocks.com that somebody else had the same problem as you, and tech support said that you will get that when you are using a Pirated version of their software.

cliezilla, I don't know if you have tried this yet but this is the only thing I can think of:
right click on the hotsync icon that is near the clock in windows (forget what they call this area). click on custom. now look for stock manager in the list and make sure it does NOT say something about desktop overwriting palm or something like that.
sorry for the vague explanation but I am not on my computer right now so I am recalling the process off the top of my head.

I'm putting in my vote for stock manager.
Personally I wish Ameritrade or one of the Online trading sites made a pda conduit, that would definitly make me switch to whoever supported that.
Are you sure all of your stocks are being erased? Make sure you go to the top menu and select "all." At first I thought that was happening (because 2 of mine weren't showing), until I realized I was just showing the wrong category (duh!).

yeah i got it to work by reinstalling... i never had a pirated version but that's the same thing the guy told me from their support - he was being a real *** because i guess he thought i was pirating it!!!! but a reinstall solved it eventually (i had to clean all the files that looked like they were associated on removal with uninstall manager)...
i really do LOVE this program though - it's very nice. I'm definitely giong to buy it here soon so i can enter my entire portoflio (demo version only allows 3).
That's great news.
To change the subject some, since a number of you here are using StockManager, have any of you had trouble restoring all your data after a hard reset?
Mine won't restore. When I try to select a .csv file to restore, it shows all my stock as SOLD. Plus it doesn't restore my alerts or graphs.
Here, let me pose this question,
Have any of you restored done a hard reset, restored, and got everything back EXACTLY like it was before (stocks owned/sold, alerts, graphs)?

Haven't noticed any problems restoring after hard reset, but I usually restore from my CardBackup instead of my desktop. I also use BackupBuddy for Windows for my desktop backup.
