This was a wonderful morning. I had just spent an hour updating my calendar, setting up appointments for the next month (I user DateBk5), etc. I decide to go to work and the next thing I know the T3 is locked up on a gray blank screen. I hit the reset button on the back and the next thing I see is the digitizer setup screen.
Yes - All by itself the T3 decided it was time for a full wipe. Of course the last sync and backup was on Friday at the office.
Anyone else see anything like this? I don't think I would care so much except that I have yet to buy an SD card bigger than 64mb in fear of frying it.
that sure sucks
it does happen sometimes i heard
mine hasn't done that but my clie has once

The NX70 Clie used to that if the SystemUpdate Patch wasn't installed.
All my issues disappeared after I removed the T3 Optimizer, except for the SD card one.

A similar thinh happened to me . Put the T3 in the case last night. Arrived at work this morning, pulled out the T3 and it was dead. Put it on the charger and after a few minutes it came up with the digitiser screen. Fortunately I had installed BackUp Buddy and BBVFS only shortly before this as BackupMan had gone into a reset loop when I did a trial restore. I was able to do a full restore from the SD card and was up and running in no time. Really annoying though....

Could have been that the battery was low?
Now I have found that when I place the T3 in its cradle it is not always seated in the cradle correctly.
What i mean is that its in the cradle but the light does not come on.
I have to (when noticing it) apply a small amount of pressure to the left or right side.
Then the light comes on and it starts charging.
Did that all make sense for you???

No, it definitely wasn't a battery issue. I think it more likely on reflection that an alarm came on after I left work and the unit remained on until it was drained.

I had the same thing happen to my Palm III a few years ago. I took it out of my shirt pocket at a stoplight to look something up. Then five minutes later when I got out of my car it was asking me to calibrate the digitizer. I never figured it out.
Maybe Palms just get a little frazzled now and then?

It just hard reset on me last night (same unusual behavior as described above), I was under the impression it had to do with the security update so I uninstalled it first.. This is accompanied by several days now were I noticed that it freezes up sometimes when an alarm or alert is up, and that it also does not turn itself off in the cradle after two minutes as I have it set (it doesn't turn off period, I have to press the power button.
So I am talking about three different things that seem related and where I have observed that some of you have had issues as well:
1. Stays on in cradle
2. hards reset by itself (not power related)
3. Frezes when alarm or alert are up
Any theories as to what the hell this may all be about?? My T3 is my fifth Palm I have owned and this problem had only come up now with this model.
Hope someone out there (smarter than me) has some answers.
See ya....

There is a thread over at Brighthand. (It started for many at the daylight savings time change. I have experienced the same thing three times. On page six of the thread, klw said he remembers a T3 beta tester saying early on there were some shorting problems (which should not have made it out of the beta testing...)
I, personally, think it is something to do with static electricity or something...

Only this past weekend I had a similar experience with my Clie T625C (I'm planning on getting a T3 in maybe a few weeks). Went away Sat/Sun overnight and didn't take my cradle (expected low use to be okay for 1.5 days). Anyway Clie was in my bum bag stored away after using the Clie at 18.15hrs, got back to the hotel room at 23.00hrs to find the device would only power up with the backlight off, couldn't read memory stick, couldn't do hardly anything battery at 1%. Of course by the sun morning it was totally dead and when I got home in the evening after a charge was confronted with the digitizer setting!!
I think it was an alarm that went off, the flip case I used with credit cards in probably was pressing against the screen and prevented shutdown for 5 hours and killed the battery - not the first time this has happened.
Fortunately Backupbuddy saved the day when I got home. But as a consequence I've ordered a Proporta hard case in preparation for getting the T3 as well as USB/Sync charger and I'll be getting a battery pack probably as well. Will hopefully keep that sort of stress well away. And from the above posts I'll probably be careful on my use of Alarms with the T3!
