Before my T T|3 battery need to replace, I think probably I already upgrade to T T|4 :p
Don't worry :) Most of handheld battery can last for 5 years as per normal usage, if you are x'treme user, probably can last up to 2-3 years
Still, what if i want to preserve it as a collection? =) its a milestone!

I used to think to keep my IIIc(The 1st color Palm), Prism (The 1st 16 bit color Palm), NR70V (The 1st built in keyboard, camera Palm), ... end up I trade in for upgrade :D

I don't believe that there is a battery offered for the T3.
In time anything is possibly!
BUT keelin is correct you will probably upgrade before the battery ever looses it strength.
But if you a new PDA owner well then congrad's.
And don't worry about the battery, as you grow into relying on your new tool/toy the newest , and greatest bug will bite you.
still that is not the point... i want to replace my batt.. well lets say just because i wan't to... is it impossible? have you guys tried doing that? hmmmmm.... im starting to like hp1940...
but don't get me wroing, i had my t3 for a week now and i used to have a nx70, i love palms! i just don't like idea that i cannot keep it alive after years of "productive" work with it

At some point, 3rd parties will probably start to offer battery replacements.
I've seen Sony T615 and T665 replacement battery services.

i have a hp 3870 and after 1 year of seldom use (yeah) battery capacity is down to around 30% i can't even read an ebook for 2 hours! i mean that's a 200mhz ppc... and t3 is a 400mhz! i sucks up more power and thus needs more recharging etc....

The battery should last for 1-2 years at tiptop condition. lol...my Prism is 3 years old and the battery life is still really good for that PDA :p.
Yes, I keep all my PDAs :D.
And, yeah, five hours is normal. But if you haven't done it yet, I would run the battery down until you can't turn on the screen anymore. Make sure you are near your cradle so you can charge it right away :p. Do this two times, and while doing this "full" charge, don't turn it on. My battery life has gone up substancially. Before it would last eight hours, now it lasts 2.5 days with BT on (but not using BT).

There are many trade offs. Processor power, weight of the unit, etc.
so palm doesn't fix/replace old batteries?
