Has anyone considered taking their t3 back to the store purchased from (or already have)? I'm beginning to wonder just how long palmone will take to enlighten us with their solution to the sd card issues. Had a nx70v so the sony had a built in backup app. Not sure which ones work best for the t3 since it has a newer OS but then again would not be able to use the sd card for it anyway. Do you like the new t3 so much that you would be willling to keep one past a 30 return policy? Would be interested in what owners think. Have read post with people saying that palmone will issue a fix soon but so far after my 10/14 reply from palmone on the subject I have not heard anything on the forums nor on palmone website indicating a fix has been found nor 'near'.

I like the size of the t3 over the sony but I think I may have liked the ability to do a backup more.

I have already surpassed my return period.
Just before I contacted Palm and told them that I was debating weather or not to return it to the store.
I left my conversation with Palm feeling that they would have a resolution in a bit.
So I decided to keep the T3.
I personally like the T3 and I have been comparing it against my NX80v which isn't that old itself.
I don't need a camera, or alot of other toys that the NX has.
They were nice for a while to play with but I now want a tool not a toy.
I'll stick with my T3 and hope that I did not get a tech that could sell me a snowball in Alaska!
If you know what I mean.

As to backups...
I can do a backup with BackUpMan manually.
I have just lost the ability to schedule backups during the day.
I have heard that there will be a new update coming out form the makers of BackUpMan within 1-2 weeks.
I eel that that might correct whatever problem that I am having with the auto scheduler.
I cant see why I can manually backup, but not schedule one.
I don't think its a Palm T3 problem.

I have until next Tuesday to decide if I'm keeping mine or not. I'm very mixed on the subject - I may just take it back, wait a week and buy another, maybe even from another retailer. I did decide that taking it back after only a few days use was premature - I'm going to live with it for a week or two and see how I feel about the matter then.

Either way, the box is safely tucked away, with receipt, cradle, charger, and everything - just waiting for the PDA and the flip cover. This coming weekend will probably be decision time - and I really feel it could go either way at this point. I have a 256MB Sandisk SD card that I've been using just fine - but in the back of my head I'm wondering how long that'll last, hehe. What concerns me more is simply the build-quality issues - screen mounted slightly too high, stylus that creaks when pressed inward towards the PDA, and a creak in the case by the hotsync port.

That said, I will say that even with problems I've experienced, I like the T3 more than any other PDA I've ever owned. Period.

I'm keeping mine. Other than the SD issue, I'm happier with my T3 than any other handheld I've ever owned. Sony doesn't have anything that would interest me in the same price range and with the same functionality. I feel that PalmOne will eventually correct the SD issue.

I do wish there were at least 5 or 6 major Palm handheld manufacturers like in the PC market. Maybe then we would see more innovation.

I'm keeping mine as well. I know that some have suffered the SD card problem, but I'm not one of them.

I'm also keeping mine. I'm using my 128MB SD locked wishing for it to keep on running. My T3 has behaved and has never fried a card, but if somewhere along the way a patch is released I'll sure install it ;)
