I'm following Palm instructions on how to transfer MP3 files to the SD card using RealOne software, and it doesn't esem to work so well.

I have a 256 Viking card. I've selected about 130MB to transfer. But after transferring 74MB, the software tells me there's an error, and keeps telling me that files can not transfer and make sure there's enough space on the card.

After I unplug the USB cord and replug, then it's OK (seems to reset). But then it keeps doing this every 2-3 files or so of transfer.

Any thoughts on what's wrong? Do I need to do something to the card before using it, like formatting (however one does that on a Palm)? Or do I have a defective card? Or is Real just not good at transferring files

I got the E specifically for its music capabilities, so am very disappointed this isn't working seemlessly.

Thanks.

I have a T3, but it's done the same thing for me a few times.

My solution? Today I went out and bought a card reader. The PNY single slot reader is $14.99 at Best Buy. There were only two on the shelf and both were open box items, so it was marked down to $13.99. Plus there's a $10 mail in rebate. Can't go wrong for $4! Compared to the cradle transfer through RealOne, it really flies!

I agree with mikegehl. Get a card reader, awfully fast plus you get to read so many other types of cards at the same time! Or, go to www.palmgear.com and search for 'Card Export', works the same as 'MS Import' on the Sony Clies
