New forum!! Yay!

To start it off right, maybe everyone can list their favorite sites for Kinoma videos.

Here's a couple:

and

http://caslis.com/devices/tungstent/movies/

(has not changed in awhile)

Anybody know how to snag the trailers off the Apple quicktime site, then you could possibly convert the .MOV files to Kinoma..

I am watching AVIs in my T3 using MMPlayer. I find the quality better and file size smaller, very much the same as MQVs for Clie's movieplayer. I use DivX5.1 and MP3Encoder plug-ins for Quicktime on my Mac and there are settings in there preconfigured for Handheld, portable etc.

Kinoma IMO just can't match either MMPlayer or MoviePlayer at the moment.

Snapshot,

I use DivXPro (http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/) which is a plug-in into Quicktime's Export options. My optimum settings in terms of quality/size is for Video - Frame Rate 15, 200 kbps, 440X-____ (maintain aspect ratio for T3's fullscreen landscape) and Audio set to 22050 Hz MPEG Layer-3, Mono. DivX settings to Portable instead of Handheld (limited to 128 kbps at 320x240).

I did the Animatrix's Last Flight of the Osiris and it is about 19 MB in size which is very good indeed for a 9 min clip. MQV for the Sony's MoviePlayer at the High Quality setting returned a 39MB file.
