I decided to upgrade (from a Sony SL10) to a T E. It's on order, and I should have it in the next few days. I have a few questions:

-does datebk5 recognise the new PIMs? Or is datebk5 not necessary anymore with the new PIMs?

-on my SL10 I have MSimport, which makes the memory stick a removable drive on my PC. I understand that the T E does not come with something similar. Has anyone tried to transfer MSmport files to a Palm? Or should I buy Card Export?

I don't believe that either DateBook 5 or Agendus recognize the new fields in the PINs, but they are working on it.

You can install to the card using the new Palm Quick Install app.

I know, but MSimport is a very nice feature: the MS is just seen as a drive, so you can just access it directly from the PC. Large files transfer much faster to the MS via MSimport than via a hotsync. I think Card Export can do the same for palm devices, but it costs $20. I was just wondering if anyone tried to use MSimport on a Palm.

I doubt MSImport/Export will work, as Sony is very good at making sure their items are proprietary. It probably only recognizes the MS format.

I tried to use a demo of Card Export, but am not having a good experience. See http://www.palmonecity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=739.

Hmm well I've used Card Export since OS5 was released, not bad but awfully slow.I've got a USB card reader which works much better, faster and also it can read 6 types of cards!

Or you could just buy one of those 6-in-1 card readers. That's what I use, connects to any computer I use that has USB, and makes things blindingly simple. =)

I've heard about a number of people complaining about card export. I'll just have to fork out the £20 ($35) for a card reader, as suggested a number of people above.

Concerning datebk5, this seems to work fine with the new PIMs. Actually, it might use the old datebook and to do list..... These are still hidden on the system, but I'm not sure if these contain the same data as the new calender/tasks. Does anyone know?
