I do not know if this has been discussed before, but amazon.com is giving this phone for free, with purchase of a new t-mobile account.

However, you have to fill out some rebate forms. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/wireless/B00006IZB0/rebate-info/102-8515811-4057731)

I just wanted to ask a follow up question to all of you who use the t68i. I want to know the (easiest, best, and/or cheapest) way of connecting my clie nx60, via bluetooth. I need to know if I am supposed to be using just my regular minutes to connect to a dial-up ISP, or if I use the MBs plan and use the data account of my service!
Help a confused idiot!

Why did you have to say that. :)

If it wasn't tmobil I could answer the minutes/plan questions.

if it didn't use the T-Mobile phone system, he could answer questions about whether you have to dial up your ISP or not. For example on cingular, you can just dial up your ISP (well where I live....the land of no GPRS or CDMA, only TDMA)

ah ok . I guess I'll just have to wait until someone who has t-mobile can answer that question.

I purchased a T68i about a week ago through T-Mobile. Although it is too early to tell I would definately argue that the MB plans are the cheapest in the long run. By using the MB pay-as-you-go option there is no need to worry about wait times during download. Since you only pay for what you use, it eliminates the stress of waiting and hitting dead sites.

I currently have 2 mb of data for $9.99/month and am considering getting the 10 mb plan for $19.99/month. I plan to wait a little to see how I do with 2mb.

I also saw the rebate that Amazon is offering. I paid a little more for the phone (was able to negotiate due to Amazon's offer) since I purchased it at a local retailer. The benefit for me was I got the phone and can return quickly with any problems. If you are looking to save a few $ Amazon is the way to go for the T68i.

Thanks so much for the info! Have you used your clie to surf using the internet from the t68i?

GenoG,

Yes, I have been surfing with my SJ30 via IR through the T68i for about 1 week now. So far so good. The speed is acceptable considering the technology.

It took me a few nights to get it setup properly and I found the tech support people at T-Mobile to be surpirsingly knowledgeable and helpful. They basically walked me through the setup of the phone and my Clie. Much was repetitive since this forum has the full setup instuctions.

I have the Xiino browser and SnapperMail setup for now.

Do you like the Xiino browser and SnapperMail better than the default progs on the clie?

I definately prefer SnapperMail to the Palm Mail app loaded on the Clie. SnapperMail has a better interface and is more flexible with message delivery options. Something as simple as changing the width of the message window columns is possible in SnapperMail but doesn't seem possible in Mail.

I have a Clie SJ30 and it does not come with a browser loaded. Although I do like Xiino and have found its interface to be good I have not used another browser on my Clie so I have nothing to compare it to.
