What exactly does the green light mean?

I've been trying to figure out what exactly the green LED on the T3 is telling me.

It comes on when you connect the cradle to the mains, but it seems to stay on even when fully charged. If it went off, I'd know when I could switch the mains off.

Sometimes it comes on when the cradle is attached to my computer, sometimes it doesn't, but will still hot sync. Judging from the BatteryGraph log, it doesn't draw any power from the USB. Why not? It would make life a lot simpler.

They had a table on the Palm support site which told you what it all meant...

SETUP: Cradle connected to power adaptor.*
Light: ON

SETUP: Cradle connected to computer USB port or powered USB hub.** Power adaptor disconnected.
Light: If the handheld is OFF the indicator light is ON. If the handheld is ON the indicator light is OFF (because the handheld power draw is near the USB limit, so the unit is not charging)

SETUP: Power adaptor disconnected, or not providing power and USB disconnected
Light: Indicator light is OFF

* Power adaptor is connected to power and functional.
** Computer or powered USB hub must be on and functional.

Thanks. So I can charge the handheld simply by connecting it to a powered USB hub? That's good news.

I still think it would be useful to know when the handheld is fully charged. The 100% indication is pretty useless, since it covers a large range of different charges.

i wish the leds were more like clies and showed yellow/orange when charging and green for full

Me too, I wish T T|3 led were same as Clie which will show yellow & green.

If possible, plus BLUE color led to show bluetooth connection :D

It turned green for full? Wow...my NR must be really old, then :p. My light just turned off when it was done charging...

A flashing green on my T3 reminds me the screen is off while listening to my Pocket Tunes.

Is this a smart battery???
I have the T3 in its cradle for most of the time that I am at home.
I don't want to keep a charge on it constantly so if it continually has a power source I think I will put it down on the side by the cradle.
I also have a powered hub and the power supply for the cradle plugged into A/C.
Should I disconnect the cradles power supply?
I don't think I can pull the power form the hub since my card reader needs it.

There is also a pro version that does more in tracking how long the battery will last.

But it hasn't been updated to OS5.

Maybe drop the author a question?

I'm not convinced that the T3 does charge when it's plugged into the USB socket but not the mains. The reason I think this is that BatteryGraph doesn't register this as being on charge.

I never got a green light when my clie was on while in the cradle...

I had two Clies. The T625 had a red light which showed it was charging. The T665's light was red when it was charging, green when it was switched on, both in and out of the cradle

I never had a green light at all on my clie...not on, not off...not in cradle...not out! I feel left out :p

Anyway...I like my T|T3 :D. The green light is cool...too bad it doesn't turn blue :( ;)

ok let me rephrase it
when my t665 was on and connected to the cradle, it showed orange while charging and once it was full it changed to green
if it was in the cradle and off, it showed orange for charging and the light goes off when fully charged

the t3 should have at least make the light turn off when full
ah well
