They finally made a no nonsense hi-res+ tablet CLIE?
One that has the standard application buttons, jogdial, and a simple, beautiful clean 320x480 screen. No gimmicks. No slider, no camera, no keyboard, just a traditional palm.
Maybe include other industry standards like 400mhz processor, 64MB RAM, bluetooth, wifi, etc.
Given the size of the screen, I am pretty sure it is possible to make a hi-res+ palm unit that is just as small as a Tungsten T3 closed. (You gotta admit the T3 has taken up a lot of room with the application buttons on top of the slider)
I want to like the T3 but due to palm's SD problems, differences in LCDs, yellowish screen, etc, I am a little worried to get one at this time...

Nope. I love the slider. It makes it compact when not in use.

Well I was reasoning that a PDA could be made the same size as the T3 with slider closed, or maybe just a little bit bigger, and still have the 320x480 screen.
If that was the case, why have the slider at all?
Then again, im just talking about a theoretical model

Please... don't tempt me again ;)
Very big possibility I'll switch caused I still keeping my 1GB MS Pro
If your mentioned Clie come with Dual Slot (MS Pro + CF), wow~... go crazy!

There isn't even room for those tiny hard-to-use buttons of the T6xx Clies below a T3-size display with the slider closed. The whole idea of the slider is to have a place big enough to put reasonable sized buttons, and still allow a closed unit to fit completely inside a shirt pocket.
Maybe using the smaller UX50 display would allow enough room for normal size buttons. Or perhaps putting the buttons on the bottom or side edges instead on the front.

Nice idea but the T3 looks much more businesslike. However, if it's with BT and WiFi, MSPro and CF... I may have to do some serious thinking...again :-(

Got the T3 because it's good all the stuff I wanted (Hi-Res+ screen, Bluetooth, 400 MHz processor and 64 MB memory) and did not have the stuff I did not want (Keyboard, camera) as these would have added to the bulk. Now if they had Wi-Fi in the same T3 package... that would be a different matter!
One thing I miss greatly though is the Jog Dial on the Sonys... really an efficiency booster. What I ended doing is using Teal Launch and mapping the Voice memo button to the down arrow so that can use it to scroll down e-books. Makes me feel like I am putting my hand round behind my head to touch my nose tho...

I don't know if I'd switch. I'm pretty hooked on the T3 right now, so I think a new Clie would have to offer me something amazingly different than simply the same features and functions in a different form factor.

I would really miss the remote control software and WA Clock! WA Clock is probably my favorite alarm program. Someone hack it for the T3 please! haha

Yea, I may miss my keyboard, but the T|T3 is just fine for me. Make an SD > MS adapter and I'll be happy :p
