I currently am using a T3 but also have a ipaq h5555. I was wondering about using the bluetooth on the palm. I don't have a bluetooth phone, I was wondering what other applications you are using this feature for. To me it seems that WiFi is a much better application.
Thanks

I use it to browse the web while son is on the family room computer. $50 Ambicom BT dongle works just fine.

How did you get the Ambicom to work? I have been able to HotSync with it but nothing more.
I contacted them to get the configuration for XP for it, but had no luck.

To anyone interested in games. IRPong2 (freeware) works via bluetooth. Also, monopoly and scrabble from handmark can be played via BT.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this.
Can you use your BT to connect to PC and then use the PC's modem to surf the net using the T|Tx?

I followed the instructions from this site.

Had to play a little but it works fine. I am getting a Belkin BT Access Point at work and will report on how that works as well.

The software that came with my Ambicom does not display screens even close to the ones from this page.
HELP - It seems like the biggest problem I am having is that the installation does not create a Bluetooth Network Adapter.

Neither does mine. I did download the latest software from Ambicom so make sure you do that as well. In My Network Connections I have my ethernet adaptor under LAN or High Speed Internet and then I have Incoming Connection under Incoming. I created this by clicking New Connection, then selecting Set up Advanced Connection.
The connection looks like a COM port connection on port 5. This allows me to hotsync, browse the web and VNC to my desktop. I have been unable to use BlueChat between my PDA and desktop as I get a COM port error.

Hey,
I'm using a Belkin dongle with my Windows 2000 box. I also have an iMac with the same dongle. My T|T3 works via both.

Great I am presently surfing the web looking for a good price or product when it comes to the BlueTooth dongles.
I have run across a few on Ebay but I really dont know enough to know what I am looking for.

I agree, and also wonder if purchasing a Class 1 (330ft) dongle really has any extended range for a T3

What do you have for your Connection and Network on your T3? Are you specifying a user and password?

I am specifying the username and password that I use to log into my PC. I can make a connection without a username or password but can't seem to do anything. With the username and password I can browse the web, get email and look at folders using the program SMB. Another thing to check. Go into System and look at your devices. You'll have the Ambicom bluetooth fax, etc. Delete what you don't need. Good luck! You also might want to read my next post.

I just got the Belkin Bluetooth Access Point. Price $115. It also acts as a USB printserver for your bluetooth devices. This was incredibly easy to hook up. My T3 and T2 both found it right away. I was quickly able to add it to my trusted devices, create a connection and then use that to configure a network connection. I was online within 20 minutes (I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out the DNS settings). It works very well in line of sight. I get a good strong connection about 100 feet away. It does not do as well with walls and floors. This reduces the range to 30-50 feet. I'm still playing with location so this may get better.
At this point I would recommend getting an access point rather than a dongle, but my experience is only with the Ambicom dongle and the Belkin AP.

I have yet to get my T|T3 working w/ my BT dongle (which is Ambicom), but here's a tip to all of ya.
DON'T USE THE AMBICOM DRIVERS
Instead, use the drivers as mentioned in this thread:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=124771&highlight=%2Bambicom
It works, trust me :). I use the drivers as mentioned in that thread and now I can pair my 3650 w/ the comp, but now I gotta figure out how to get the comp to not complain when I pair w/ the T|T3

What did you get, 1 dongle for your PC??
I have not attempted to hookup the Bluetooth T3 as of yet.
I have a ethernet network setup with 5 computer now and need to continue to use it, so I hope that I can just add this into what I already have up and running.
I want to incorporate the T3 into my network.
I was thinking of purchasing a dongle and attaching it to my laptop which is on of the 5 that is in my existing network.
Since my existing network is already using 192.168.0.# can I just continue and just add it into my network?
It there a brand that is better then the other or are they all the same?
What about price are they wide ranged or within the ame price range also?
Thanks

I finally got my bluetooth working!
I unloaded my AmbiCom drivers and software, rebooted, installed the TECOM drivers that I got at www.mchusa.com/BTW12216.zip (http://www.mchusa.com/BTW12216.zip) booted a bunch of times, then followed the directions that I have seen everywhere. And this time at least the screens matched the directions.
One thing I did have to do manually was to add the network adapter. I went into Add Hardware / Manual / Network Adapter / Have Disk / browse to the Program Files/TECOM/Bluetooth/bin/ and it created the adapter.
Once I enabled ICS it worked like a champ!!!
Now if I could only get the Enfora Portfolio working life would be good.:D
Thanks to everyone for the help...

Larry I have been looking at the BlueGear web page, and I can't seem to find anything about the range of there dongles.
Should I assume that it is like the other dongles being sold on eBay, which say 100 meters / 330 feet?
Can you inform???
Did it come with software???
Im using XP here...
How hard was it to get connectivity to your system???
Thanks

Okay...got the Ambicom dongle to work with the TECOM drivers. Odd that the Ambicom drivers/software doesn't work as well as TECOM :)
Now I am trying to get SmbMate set up. I can get connected, but get the error
Failed load\*
Invalid requested network name or UNC path
Running WinXP with cablemodem and router. Is there something I need to add to Desktop or change in WinXP setup?
Thanks in advance,
Jim
Happy T3 BT user...now :)

I just installed Softick PPP (http://www.softick.com) on my PC (trial copy), and it supports TT in cradle, as well as BT dongles I believe. Creates a PPP server on your PC so you can connect to the internet using PC's connection. BTW, I'm running Win XP.
So far seems OK.:)

If you look for a good (and free ;-) chat software for your phone, try SubliMobi bluetooth chat (http://www.sublimobi.com).
