My wife is having problems using Quickword on her Zire71 -- she tries to create a new file and it ends up being corrupt. I've already had to rebuild her machine once because it isn't readable, isn't deleteable, and starts the machine in a constant reset cycle.
I don't know SPECIFICALLY what she is doing; does this ring any bells with anyone out there????

Probably noone uses QuickOffice. Docs to Go seems to be the popular software amongst Palm users. Maybe that's why.

Just purchased a refurbed Z71 for my daughter, and I was actually going through some of the older threads when I foud this one.
Used to have that issue with the older versions...I've been a user of QuickOffice since 2002, which I have tried Docs To Go every now and then, I have to say QuickOffice has a lot more features and is better in some respects. I think what makes Docs To Go so popular is the hotsync conduit, and the fact it comes pre-installed with the newer Palm pdas.

IMHO, DocsToGo 9 and MobiSystem Office Suite 7 are "tied" in terms of features, with DocsToGo beeing better in preserving files and beeing fast, while MobiSystems OfficeSuite can do more...

What I like about Office Suite 7.6 (current version) is the Thesaurus and the user interface. I'm wondering, has DocsToGo 9 have native PDF viewing yet? A feature I hope is in the next version of Office Suite.
