I do not understand how this works on this site. For instance, today this was in the Newest PDS News section on your front page:

PDANews24: Alubreeze LX Skin 1.01 (2)

On Cliesource, the (2) means two have responed to this news item within the forum and pressing it takes you to those responses. But on your site, the link takes you to the PDA News front page (in this case). Then if I press their link to read recent items about this news item, there is nothing about it in that forum area?

So, please help me understand what the (2) means in this section, or tell me where the two (in this case) comments are to be read at. Thanks.

Yes, it is somewhat confusing. The '(2)' actually shows how many people clicked the news item to read it. The higher the number, the popular it is.

For the active topics block, yes, it is the number of replies.

"Then if I press their link to read recent items about this news item, there is nothing about it in that forum area?"

The 'recent news posts' points to articles posted before that day and in some instances ones that were posted earlier the same day which have been archived from the front page.

Another good place to get news is pda.watchster.com
I was wondering if PalmOne City will start an RSS feed for this site as well.
