When do we get to use the SDIO with WiFi on them with the OS5.21??

I know that PPC has this option to use with SD cards, and they sell for about $80...when can us Palm users get this????


I want it NOW! :-):mad:

I am still waiting for the SD wifi card to come out for Palm....Heard that it will be released either this Nov or next year...

There was talk of another option....Guyfer, i think, have a sled that clips on the back of the Palm and provides access to a PC Card slot. This will allow you to add a WIFI card amongst others.

I have not found anywhere yet that sells the device, but this is the sort of addon I like that leaves the sc slot available for other devices like camera...

Latest word is that it will be out in December. But while you're waiting, there is something that obviously costs more but apparently it works with the Zire 71. It's called the Enfora Wireless Lan portfolio case and costs USD $169:

But it connects via the universal connector port so it leaves the SDIO slot open so that you can still have the expansion card. With the Sandisk SD Wi-Fi card, there is no expansion storage on the Wi-Fi card, although they are saying that it will be coming.

Someone in another board has mentioned that it works well with the T3, TT and Zire 71 since they own all three Palms.

I think this might even be a better solution over the SD wifi, since that will take up the SD slot and Who knows when they will come out with 256 or 512MB+ memory built in (Although I know they are in dev with a 128mb). If it is going to be an all in one (camera/mp3/PDA/web access) you need mass mem. I have a 512 card, and its 88% full(30%mp3).

Well I think Wifi with SD/MMC card would be more efficient.
I don't have a Zire 71 but even if I had I would prefer SD IO card.
And that would also suit Treo 600

I agree...but as we sit here and wait for SDIO with built in mem of 256/512MB or more...we are gonna grow old before we see it. I hope in a few months or less ..WHAMMM!!...its all available with built in mem....That would keep my faith and open mind towards devices from Palm with future expected functionality.

Sandisk is suppose to release one end of this year, which would be real cool ;) Enfora' case is nice, and the extra battery, nicer! Hmm...too bad I can't get it ere'

I am waiting for the sd wifi card from sandisk to come out. I personally wouldn't go with the enfora wifi one because I looks so buldky to me. I'll get the one from sandisk as soon as it comes out!

That fits with the email that I got from Sandisk the other day. But why aren't any other vendor getting on this product? It seems to be a definate money maker.
