WoHoooo.............. Couldn't resist anymore. Damn you PalmOneCity.com :) j/k . Ordered it at Amazon.com for $329.99 ($359.99 with a $30 instant rebate for getting their credit card). Free shipping and no taxes. They also have a $50 coupon for electronic items over $250. That brings the price to $280. (you know what I mean :) ). Hopefully I can convince a few friends to buy palms to get some palmbucks. Even if they don't, I think it is a sweet deal.

My 5 month old NX70V will be taken over by my wife. I have a question for you guys : Do I have to buy all the apps I bought for my clie again for my T3? Does purchasing a software permit me to use it on multiple PDA's? What do people with 3,4,...12 PDAs do? Just curious....

Looking forward to sharing info in this excellent forum.

Welcome to the Palm community!! I think I might be able to answer your question.

- If the apps you purchsed for your NX70v were registered to a specific hotsync name then all you have to do is set that same name to your T3 and all your apps should work.

Congratulations on the purchase. I am still waiting for my local BB or FS to receive their shipment.

Thank you palmaniac_mike. It's been a while since I used a palm. Used the Palm V for as long as I can remember (still works like the day I bought BTW), switched to the Zaurus SL5500, then to the NX70V now back full circle to the T3. Hope the T3 is as durable as my V.

I think that you will have problems if both you and your wife have units with the same name. You should first rename your old unit usung Palm desktop, then you can reuse your original name on the T3.

Thank you rokiteer and nickster87.

rokiteer, you raise a good point. I'll make sure that we don't sync to the same computer. This way I don't have to rename my clie.

My question was more on "is it ok to use my purchased apps on 2 pdas form a software license perspective?" rather than "how do I do it?". Seems like a lot you have more than one pda. How do you guys handle this issue?

Thanks.

From a legal point of wiew, you're entitled to use your purchased SW on one PDA only, be it a Palm, Sony, handera etc. Since there is almost no way of enforcing this issue, it comes down to what you belive is right. I have used my registered SW on both mine and my wife's device on occasion (especially if it's a pricy SW because registering twice becomes a financial issue). I think you should figure out what your two cents are...anyway, don't feel bad about your decision, a lot of people don't even bother registering the SW, they just get it off Kazza.

Thanks y_g. I'll investigate this further. I know some developers are ok with using their apps on multiple pdas. I guess I'll send them emails to see if they can atleast give some discount.

dgantony,

where did you see it on amazon.com for only $359.99? I see that they sell it for jandr.com for $370, but products they sell for j and r don't qualify for the $50 promo certificate. Is there a special link you had to go through?

Thrak,
I saw the $359.99 price om 10/9. They changed it today morning. Check this link (http://www.palmonecity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83).

Amazon changes their pricing often. This is what I did : Added all 3 deals (amazon, j & r and circuit city) to my cart. Checked back ever 2-3 hours to see if the price had dropped. Bought it as soon as the price dropped.
