T|C & Datebk5 Alarm problems

I'm running a T|C with Datebk5 and I'm having alarm problems.

If I turn the system sound off I do not receive a notification alarm for appointments, even though the Alarm sound is set to any of the other levesl (L, M, H).

I have the latest version of Datebk5 and the newest T|C update.

Is this suppose to happen? This has never been the case with the other 4 PalmOS based handhelds I've purchased. Is this a feature of OS5? If it is, I hate it.

I don't like the system sound with all of the clicking when I tap on everything, but I want to be able to be notified of my alarms.

Is anyone else having the same problem running Datebk5, or could anyone help me out?

Sounds like an OS5 thing. I'm guessing the system sound off acts like the mute control on a OS5 clie. It kills ALL sounds.

I agree with rob, I used to have the mute all the time, then I enabled system sound a whoop there it was!

I run Datebk5 on my Tungsten C with the system sound turned off and get alarms. I didn't for a while after I first installed Datebk5, but I went into the alarms preferences and reset all my preferences, and since then my alarms work perfectly.
