How many Clie users have gotten a Tunsten T3?? Do you like it better than the Clie?

This is my 4th pda - I have had two Clie's and an IPAQ - I am extremely happy with the T3 and mainly made the switch because of the immense features compared to similarly priced CLIE's - I was blown away - It's funny because I told my friend right before the T3 came out that I wish there was a VG for the clies without the keyboard and flipstyle, etc. Next thing you know - there was the T3 - Just in time.

I am thinking of getting one to "complement" my NX80V!;)

Count me in. But I got the T2 a couple of months ago and upgraded to the T3 a couple of weeks ago. Still have my NR70V but the T2 has been sold.

Do I like it better? Well, if you mean better than my NR, then yes. I'll let you know for sure when I learn how to skin the VG :)

I just purchased a T3 after owning two Clies - a 610C and an NR70V.

I loved the large screen of the NR70V, but I never used the keyboard and only occasionally used the camera. The T3 has amazed me.

Last night I just happened to pick up my NR70V for a minute and it struck me how much better the screen on the T3 is than the one one the NR70V. It's amazing.

I absolutely love the T3. (And I bought it for only $348 total including shipping!).

Handspring Visor Deluxe -> Handspring Prism -> Palm M505 -> Clie T615C -> Clie NX70V -> Palm Tungsten T3

I missed the small size of the M505 & T615C. The NX70V was neat for a time, but after nearly a year I grew tired of the weight and size.

I'm probably the only one in Alaska with a T|T3. CompUSA was surprised I had one already when I discussed the SD problem with them.

Palm V -> Palm Vx -> Sony T615C -> Sony T665C -> Palm T|T3

I didn't think I'd find a better screen than the T665C, but the T3 beats it. This thing is so incredibly fast, the size is perfect, and 52MB of user RAM is a dream come true. This is the true successor to the T665C. I still think that the T665C is a great PDA, but the T3 beats it hands down.

Pilot Pro -> IIIx -> Vx -> T615C -> T3

I wanted Virtual Graffiti but didn't want a "large" clamshell. I agree, size is perfect, features are great, and I find I do like the slider. I'd prefer longer battery life, but am waiting for stable solutions (underclocker, Power-To-Go?, mini-sync cable ordered). I'd like to be able to travel for a weekend w/o worrying about power.

Power To Go might solve your power needs

And PXA Clocker appears to work as well. Some folks over at PIC are using it, setting the basic PIM apps to 100 mHz, while overclocking to 600 mHz reliably.

Casio???>Palm IIIxe>M505>T615>NR70(shattered screen)>NX70V>Zire 71>SJ10(temporary)>Tungsten E(12hours)>Tungsten T3

Screen, screen and screen.

The price tag was decent as well. I really wanted a UXseries but they were too pricey and the screen was too small. So far I am very pleased with the T3. Hopefull this will erase the terrible experience I had with the 505.

Palm V -> IBM Workpad (rebranded Palm V) -> Zaurus SL5500 -> NX70V -> T3

BTW, gregorc, how does the T3's screen compare to the Zire 71's screen?

I have seen pics of the T3's screen compared to the NX80V's and the T3 seems washed out in comparison. Can anyone confirm or deny this??

I only had the Zire for a little while and to be honest I didn't really use it all that much. That's why I traded it in. From what I remember, I don't think there was anything that remarkable about the screen compared to the T3.

I think the T3's screen is incredible. Even more than the quality of the screen, I use the landscape feature almost exclusively (except when in the cradle) and I love the VG. I also use autodimmer to keep the backlight as low as possible and have no problems viewing anything.

I was on a plane with my boss on Wednesday and had forgotten a PPT presentation that we needed to review. She was able to use the T3 and seemed to be impressed. She hates small writing and prefers bright colors. She had no problem with the ppt on the screen.

Palm Vx --> Clie T665 --> Tungsten T3

No regrets, Vx was awsome as I purchased it when it just came out. 665 was indispensible, and T3 is a great little machine.

BTW I paid the same price for Vx as T3, $399.

Visor Deluxe --> Clie 710 flashed to 760 --> Clie 615 --> iPaq 2215 --> T3

The T3 is by far the best. The 2215 only lasted 3 months before I had to switch back to PalmOS. I feel like I'm back home... after a major remodel ;)

Palm IIIe, Palm IIIxe, Palm IIIc, Handspring Visor Deluxe, Handspring Prism, Casiopeia E115, Palm M505, Nokia Communicator 9210, Clie T615, NR70V, NX70V and now Tungsten T3

Found that TT3 is much better than my previous NX70V in view of size, weight, screen, ... but I miss the twin slots on my NX70V :rolleyes: Nothing is prefect, right?

Just picked one up today. So far I love it.
Migrating over from an NX60 cuz I NEVER use the keyboard, and the CF slot has become kind of a waste for me. Also, I have a Nokia 3650 and wanted the bluetooth built in. The size is awesome! Even 'extended' it's shorter than my NX60!

A little strange getting used to Palm again after being a Clie/Visor user for so long, but I haven't found anything I DON'T like so far...

i'm waiting for some stock to reach stores in toronto canada
i want to buy it from future shop since i have a $200+ gift certificate
even though it's been on their website for over a week there's still no stock!
the only thing i would probably get over the t3 is an nx80, but it's not coming here and i don't want to go there or buy online
so hopefully the t3 will get here

I just sold my NX70 (which I loved for the screen and speed) because I never used the keyboard and the camera is a nice feature but I have a Digi-Cam anyway. What was most important for me in a handheld is speed, screen, memory and size. What can I say, Palm read my mind. This is the machine that answers almost all my needs. As was mentioned before, I turned to PPC a year ago (Toshiba e740) and turned back (Palm T1) after a month or two. the return to palm was an amazing experience...exactly like returning home after a long jurney....
I can't wit for my T3 to arrive tuesday. I am lost without my PDA.

I switched back to palm the minute I saw the T3. The only thing I miss about my NX is the money I spent on it ;)

How about you former Clie owners outline what features that lured you away from Sony, and what features that you miss from your former Clies?

haha i was
i got the nx70 and a week later the nx73/80 were announced so i was planning to wait for them and return the nx70
then i waited a month and it turned out the nx80 wasn't coming to canada so i waited some more and tried the nx73 when it came
it was only sold at the sonystore and it turned out to have that soft mushy screen
i gave up and returned it since the screen thing was so annoying

Geez.

I have PDA's:

- Tungsten T
- Tungsten T2
- Tungsten T3
- Sony Clie UX-50
- Sony Clie PEG-T615C
- Handspring Treo 90
- Handspring Visor Prism
- Palm Zire Basic
- Palm VII

Yes, I am nuts about PDA's. (I call 'em PDa, PDb, PDc, PDd ... etc.)

Out of what I consider to be the top two, it's really a dead-heat between the T3 and the UX-50 on what I consider to be the best. The both have the serious pros ... and cons.

Right now, the con for the T3 is the SD card issue. For the UX-50, it's the memory (even tho you can move and launch programs from the bonus 32mb internal memory).

Still, love 'em both and carry both of them around every day.

:D
