hi
I've two questions about T|E:
- I've heard that T|E comes with screen protector. How good is it (compared to Brando's)?
- Does T|E comes with any program similar to Sony's MS Import?
thanks

The TE screen protector is just a plastic cover that attaches to the unit and covers the screen. It is not a true screen protector in the sense of the word. But you can get screen protectors everywhere, so it shouldn't be a biggie for anyone.
Second, I don't think so. But you could use a card reader if you had to have this feature.
Cheers!!;)

No MS Import :( But you can buy Card Export. It is the same thing. Check Palm Gear.

Card export works the same as MSimport, works fine for me.But I'd prefer a USB 2.0 card reader, anytime. It's much faster!

T|E is a great choice. Card Export is also a nice program.
Also another vote for a card reader.

I agree. I just bought one for $20 and the USB 2.0 is fast.
Can't say about the screen protector because I don't use them. I don't like the way they make the screen look.

In your humble opinion, do I really need a screen protector? And, what is the deal with Keyboards for the Tungsten E? I'll be taking notes in classes w/ this and no matter how fast I can do Grafitti, I'll never be able to keep up with my AP US Hist. teacher. I've heard that wireless is the only option. with your answers to the kbd question, plz provide links to reviews/manf. sites for me to check out. Thanks a lot guys (and gals)!

I think a screen protector is an insurance that you'll be able to sell your PDA after you've grown tired of them. Preventing scratches will help make your PDA look good. Of course there's the thing about scrathes on the body but that's a different story.
Since the TE doesn't have a UC the Wireless KB is the way to go. I still haven't found any site reviewing the WL KB.

The first time a speck of dust gets under your stylus and you scratch your screen, you'll be wishing you had put a screen protector on. So my answer is YES, you really do NEED a screen protector.

Good screen protectors reduce glare and make using stylus easier/more pleasant. Even if they are a bit milky it's hard tu notice it on your pda screen. And they just make you don't care about the screen anymore.

Thanks for the tip about card Export. That and the MS Gate software on my Clie are the only Clie freebies I think I'll miss. That and the jog dial, but I certainly won't miss the Clie T series app and up/down buttons!

FileProg and Filez are much better that MS Gate. Both are free.

Actually, the TE DID come with a Palm brand screen protector. It is okay. A little milky toned, and when I got a bubble and peeled it back up, you can see the line of how far I peeled it. It also stretched a little when I peeled it.
What is more bothersome is that the screen protector, which IS labeled for the TE, does not quite reach all four side of the screen. It is short by about 2 mm all the way around. I don't like that!
Well, it will do for now until I order a Brando or G2 make a TE protector (I can't remember which one I was using on my T615C most recently).
I haven't used the screen flap, as I have read about the scratching.
