We've been using older Palms (M105s, M500s) to connect to Cisco equipment with a serial cable and the universal connector. This allows us to do quick changes without carrying a notebook around.
Can we do the same with the Tungsten Es?? Is the connector basically the same with a different form factor? Appreciate any thoughts or help. Thanks.

Don't think so. Unless one is to use a USB to serial converter, which may not work just to let you know. But you can give that thought a try

Yeah, it's mini USB... such a bummer!

That was still a bad move in my opinion, getting rid of the normal connector.
I'm guessing they did it to cut costs.

Almost as bad as Sony releasing peripherals that only work with newly released models and not those released 6 months ago. Planned obsolescence in Sony's case.:(

Sony lost their edge! Too bad in one sense, on the hand they made PalmOne get off their backsides and try to compete. Bottomline is that we now have more and better choices in Palm OS devices.

The only way to get a serial connection out of the T|E would be the infared port. You'd have to rig up some sort of IR-Serial adapter. Good luck
