The Enfora Wireless portfolio is awesome! Works great! Attached a picture, and will post a couple more so people can see.
It's a case, wifi, and battery all in one, plus it charges. It's not a large size either. WIFI is fast! It doesn't take up SD slot space. It's $169 for leather, $159 for denim.

hmm, I had dismissed this case in another thread. I would rather have a card. But thanks for posting these pics. Actually seeing a T3 in the case does change my opinion of it. it looks very, about the same height as my current NR70V and just a little longer than my NR70v. Though the thickness is a worry.

Do you have to use velcro to hold your Palm in place?? And how easy is it to use the slider with your T3 in the case?? Thanks.

The picture with it in your hand makes all the difference in the world to me. I thought the case was rather large - looks like it might be usable. And the battery charger is a plus. This may actually be better than an SD WiFi card (especially if SanDisk makes the card :))

Those are my questions, too...
This is a good solution if you don't want to use up your SD slot...

Hey! That looks good! Though it really adds to the bulk.
I'm wondering how they attached that? The same attachment as the flip cover?

Is it just me or is the tungsten E looking even worse now for not having a universal connector.

By the way, the denim seems to look neater then the leather. Is it becuase it doesn't have the pockets and slots? (i'm pertaining to the picture posted at Enfora's website)

Yes-you need to use Velcro. (comes with it).
It's very easy to use the slider with it in the case.
(and you're quite welcome:) )

You have to stick the velcro with a double sided tape then? A tad messy and un-neat for me...

I'm glad the picture with the hand (my husband's) gave you a helpful perspective! That was the point of the picture, so people could see the size. The case is smaller than I thought too-it's really just like one of those generic zippered PDA cases in terms of size. For what you get with it, it's a bargain. The idea of having the SD slot left available is nice too. (of course-we're not using ours right now anyway because it's ruined cards-it's empty now) So even if the SD wifi card were out, we wouldn't attempt to use it right now anyway. But it's so neat to be able to have the WIFI function with it.

I got it from Mobile Planet www.mobileplanet.com
Palm Infocenter ran the story on it and I clicked the link from there too. I had read about it a few months ago in a magazine.
Hopefully you can get one. It really is a great set-up.

 Do you have this working? I received a demo model just last week, and I was told it had just been released due to diferences in the connector angle.
I have been working with their tech support and have not been able to get it to work. You have it working with a T3? Were there any specific settings you got to work? We cannot get past the Signing On screen with the little handshake.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Still a bit bulky for my taste.
I switched from a NX80v w/WiFi CF card to a T3.
On of the nice things was its size.
Also the tape velcro isn't that appealing to me either.
Wish it had another means of holding the T3 in place.
Also thinking about what it would look like when the slider is opened, would it not extend up over past the top of the case???
This would expose the top of the unit so the case would not be any kind of protection against anything when using.
Nice concept, but I think the card (if / when Palm gets their act together with the SD issues) is my way back to the land of WiFi.

I also don't like the velcro, as it keeps snagging my pants when Ihave the T3 in my pocket without the portfolio.
When the T3 is extended, it is still within the portfolio, and it still closes. As a case, it is quite nice... Having it double as a WiFi unit is an extra bonus. Now the only problem is getting it to work!

My wife and I purchased the Enfora Portfolio almost two weeks ago. She talked with the folks there and they said that new releases would have a different way of fastening the PDA into the case i.e. like the palm power pack sled way of fastening. I don't like velcro either and now don't use it. I t is small enough of a case that it will hold the connection securely when closed and when open it is fine even with the difficult Zire 71 connection. It is one of the few devices that has worked per spec out of the box for me. I would like to be able to help if you have a specific connection question. I am using a wifi linksys system without encrypt. (XP home). The T3 (when I had it), Zire 71, TT all work with it. I really like the Zire with it because it gives me a camera. I even have it working with the palm battery sled but I don't see the case as being able to charge the charger (it wasn't meant to do that - just me trying it out). I have used it each day for hours without draining the battery on the PDA and being able to go long periods between charges. Its really fun to use the "non" wifi enable devices to surf the net and hotsync wirelessly. Are you using webpro? Good luck.

I managed to get it "more" working at another site in town, so now I am trying to work out if it is an issue with my T3 or the current version of the Portfolio that I received.
It would be great it there was a different way of keeping the T3 in the portfolio. I will keep an eye out for it.

Did you manage to get it completely working?
Really appreciate if you can post more detailed review (inclusive o f the issues and +/- their solutions). Not many ppl have been commenting/reviewing the portfolio and so far IIANM they've been OK. I am more inclined towards buying it rather than the SD Wi-fi because of the poor T3 battery.
Thanks.

I guess my question is how do you connect the WiFi into the T3???
If you insert a card into the SD slot then what is the difference with this verse a SD WiFi card???
Doesn't the T3 require drivers for this as well???
Thanks

Jeff,
The case has a connector that the Universal Connector plugs into, just like a cradle or sync cable, and the WiFi is established that way.

Yes I am expirencing a connection problem, I have the zire 71 and having a error. The error is "error:timeout (0x1212)" or netErrTimeout, any help.

I have the Enfora case working flawlessly with a T3. The issue with the velcro connection hasn't been as bad as I thought, but I'd still like to see the thing actually use the connectors on back since it uses the default palm data plug. I have never had to use the "Connect" button in the software, but I've always used public access points...nothing that wasn't broadcasted or was secured. I always get an error when hitting that button with a normal access point simply because the system will connect on its own if it finds the AP.

I started a thread at Brighthand on a modification I made to turn the portfolio into a sled...
A short description and photos can be viewed at

Enjoy!

Nice job on that mod...I may have to get dangerous with it myself. You got any clearer pictures of just the sled though?
