Anyone out here still using one? The battery life was awesome, and it just got the job done.

I gave mine to my gf. Still working though but the battery life has weakened considerably.

I miss it's form factor. Thin and light. Real sexy!!! :D

I just bought one on Ebay. Gave it to my cousin along with a new PPK ($1 from ubid.com) as a birthday gift. She loves it.

Maybe I should shop on ebay for an old one? I really liked that device.

I really thought it looked nice. But I grabbed a m500 because it was cheaper for some ungodly reason.

m500 cheaper than Palm Vx? How did that happen???

Buying a Palm Vx on Ebay was a mixed experience. I wanted two, one for my cousin and one for my sister. Only one of them works. The other had a serious digitizer problem. The guy who sold it to me initially agreed to replace it, though I confess he had no legal obligation to do so. I was very impressed with him. But its been 2 months now, and he hasn't sent it, and has not replied to my latest email inquiry. So it seems I'm out $55.

You may be aware that overstock.com is selling Palm Vx PDAs for between $70 and $100, which seems a little pricey.

My third grade daughter uses her 2 meg Palm V everyday.... of course it is just for a few simple games, but it's "still going...."

Cheers, Rich

I've got the 8meg Vx at home gathering dust. I've thought about putting it on Ebay a few times. Still a very nice machine and mine is just like out of the box because I traded up to an m505 shortly after I bought it. has a screen protector, so screen is in excellent shape and has a metal case protecting it and all the travel charging accessories and a keyboard. Maybe I will put it up on Ebay. I can't believe I ever survived with just 8megs.

Still have my Palm V as well as my Palm III and Palm Pilot and palm Pilot Pro. The realy early Palms were fantastic in that they would often go six weeks on a Pair of triple A batteries. Alas, those days are gone.

Never did understand why Palm changed the screens on the Palm V from the really cool backlight they had on the Palm III and earlier ones.

Oh well, gotta charge my own battery with a brewsky now.

Would you take $40 and save yourself the trouble of putting it on Ebay? If so, email me: ojleblanc@yahoo.com

Those who miss the Vx should get a T|E :D ;)

I agree, the Vx is a PDA to be missed.

$40 bucks isn't too bad, I'll think about it....

The battery in my Palm V finally died last year, and my Vx has less than half its battery capacity left. I'm looking into getting an TJ35, which is only 0.07 inches thicker than a Vx, but has slightly less than half the battery life. Everything else feels way too bulky.

Thanks for considering my offer, but yesterday I purchased a Handspring Visor Platinum with stowaway keyboard and other accessories for $56. Its a gift for my sister.

Still wish I could have gotten the Palm Vx-- I have a brand new PPK for it already and now don't need it.

I'm still using my Palm V (not even a Vx). Easily still the most elegant PDA out there. The m5xx series didn't do it for me.

So my biggest decision as I've finally decided to go color is: T|E or TJ-35....

Honestly thought the screen really bites compared to an NX. I could not believe the dif when I went from the Vx to the T615.

My boss still uses her original Vx (or is it a IBM WorkPad, not sure?), which is at least 3 1/2 years old now. She was the first one at our place to have a Palm, but now she looks at me and shakes her head everytime I come in with a new one. Of course, my TE cost half of what she paid for hers in 2000 :)

I'm lucky--my workplace is pretty techno-savvy. There are at least 11 people with Palm OS handhelds (mostly Palm brand) and only 2 with PPC/WinCE (one doesn't know how to use his Casio BE300). And we only have 45 people working there!

I have my old Vx. Still in a very good shape. I haven't used it since I bought my new zire 71. I think I might want to put it on ebay for sale. It might be more useful for somebody who needs it.

I gave mine to my father.

I have upgrade to Tungsten E, but Vx was definitively better machine.

Perhaps T E formfactor with Vx quality of materials and Virtual Grfitty would be my perfect one. Listening PalmOne?:D :) .

I loved my Vx, it was an awesome little machine. I went to a 515 after my Vx. I LOVE havina color machine. (I also have a TT1 now.)

im still using a Palm Vx (my old one four years ago), which is still in [almost] mint condition (thanks to the hard case)...

you see after using the Clie NX80V for about six months (and before that a NX70V for also six month), i felt a sense of nostalgia that made me put the NX80V back in its box, and brought out my old Vx...

and wow!!! this is the BEST PDA ever...
so much so, that i havent touched my NX80V for about a month now - i just cannot get over the form factor of the Vx <--- a big cry over the bulky NX80V

my DREAM PDA ==>
- Vx form factor (i dont like the slider idea of the Tungsten)
- virtual graffiti
- maybe both WiFi and Bluetooth
- Universal Connector (as oppsoed to the T|E not having it)
- 64MB RAM
- high-speed processor

one thing i like about my Vx is in its IR functionality wherein i can beam messages to my vodafone cellphone, and send it from there... well, it is much easier using Graffiti than thumbing through the phone's keypad

ps: wow! imagine what four years of using Graffiti can do for you ---> who needs a KEYBOARD?

Just bought an Vx for 6000Yen last week. I actually bought it because I needed an extra Palm that I use as remote control to switch my DVD player regionfree. I already have an old IBM Workpad lying around, but that one is not rechargable and I do not want to change batteries every couple of months. The Vx is great in terms of form factor and battery life. The display, RAM etc. are of course not up to date, but we all have a `real` PDA for the important things life, right.

The Vx was my first machine and I loved it. However my upgrade, the m515, had a very similar form factor and tons more functionality. Even though I have a T1 sitting in a drawer, I use my m515 to this day as a backup to my T3. Great little machine. If you're thinking of a Vx, consider an m515 instead.

I have 515. I got it after my IIIx and loved it. Gave it to my other half when I got my T3. She has just got a Zire71 - so the 515 is probably going to my best mate.

The TŠE is fantastic, I know a couple of people with them, however - no universal adaptor!

If you want a modern Vx get a 515.
