View Full Version : Palm Doc converter/editor with OS X?

Has anybody found a satisfactory editor for Palm Docs that works with OS X and particularly Word docs? Picsel Viewer lets me read them, but not edit them.

I bought WordSmith Pro, which claims to work with OS 9 but clearly doesn't work with OS X. Also downloaded demo of QuickWord, which not only didn't work with MS Word X but also tampered with it to the point I had to re-install that too. I even tried Documents to Go -- won't work with X & doesn't open PDB files.

Closest I've come is MiniWrite, but that requires me to convert Word files to text, losing even basic formatting. (Indents, etc.)

If I can solve this problem, the Clie NZ90 becomes a partner for my Macs. Otherwise, it's just a real expensive mp3/movie player with very little memory.

Hi, Don,

WordSmith and Docs to Go both work fine on our Macs. I've used both of them with our G3 iBook, and our G4 eMac and PowerBook, all using OS X. No problems.

Thinking I must be losing my mind, I tried WordSmith again. Turns out the copy I bought from Staples was an old version. I went to the Handmark website, downloaded the newer version, and got it working. (Seems like the manual still has a few points wrong, however -- I had to find the right folder to insert the sync conduit; their suggestion was wrong.)

Anyway, thanks again.
