I have operated my TH55 successfully for months with no problems but now all of a sudden, after every hotsync it resets. The hotsync process goes all the way through but I get a "Fal exception - press the button to reset your palm" error message. The PC gives me no errors. The hotsync log in the PC and Clie both show NO errors and no problems.
I haven't added any extra software and really have no clue as to what's causing this. Any suggestions. Right now I am putting up with it and when I have time I might do a hard rest and re-inastall but I'd rather avoid that if possible.
Sid.

hmm.. that sounds ugly.
I'd try a hard reset, don't think there's much more you can try for the moment...

Haven't signed in, but original poster here.....
LOts of apps installed I'm afraid. I've been a long time palm user (7 years) and have accumulated over the years.
datebk5
snapper
splash id
splash money
thegogo
ir keyboard
audible player
clip pro
siED
docstogo
hwiki (trial)
isilo
movie rec....
filez
pocket c
resco view
teal lock
+ a few others that I've had installed forever. The latest additions are hwiki & ir keyboard driver but I've managed to hotsync successfully with everything already installed. These have been installed for a few days and my hotsync woes only started yesterday - I hotsync at least once per day.
TIA for any help.

My NX80 recently started hanging on every hotsync. It turns out that if I disable Okey, I have no problems anymore. Just a suggestion, if you use Okey.

My NX80 always had a habit of resetting on Hotsync, not every time, but 1 out of every 2 or 3. Actually it would crash on the first tap or button press after Hotsync. Never found out what it was, but towards the end I started to think one of my PIM databases might be corrupt because it started crashing during that part. Nothing ever seemed damaged after the reset though.
Don't know about OKey, but I think my troubles started before OKey came out. Sorry not to have more info, just wanted to let you know it's not that uncommon. Maybe see if you can tell what's syncing when it crashes. Disable all your system hacks/utilities. Hope you figure it out. It always used to drive me crazy. I'm so glad whatever it was isn't affecting my TH.

I had the same problem with mine. You most likley have some app or part of one that is causing the problem. I had to do a couple of hard resets to make the problem go away.

Thanks for the help thus far guys. The real puzzler is that the hotsync goes all the way thru. It completes but the clie still comes up with a fatal error. It's like it has a problem exiting the hotsync process and returning to the hotsync screen.
Very odd. There must be some conflict somewhere. Hard reset here I come........heaven help me.

For the record, I've fixed my problem and only note it here in case someone else comes across a similar problem. I deleted my last installed program which was NotesTree. Now my syncing is back to normal. I'm not sure what the issue was nor will I invest any time in trying to figure it out.
Thanks for the help guys.

You may be right about Mcphling, or some combination of Mcphling and Okey. I now have Mcphling deleted and Okey installed and no problems for several hotsyncs. It also seems that some apps when installed in ROM with Jack Flash can also cause hotsync problems. Haven't pinned down exactly which ones yet.
