Hey! Would any one be interested in another Bomberman clone? I am making one in Razor that will be free and open-source, with plenty of goodies and eyecandy. Does anyone think I should sell it? I will post screenshots after I work on the graphics a little better. Thanx!

IŽll like to see a bomberman game on ym palm, be sure to make it os 5 compatible, and about selling it, I dont have money to buy programs, but do what you whant, its your game!!!

I'm toying with the idea of writing Palm software. I would like to focus on open source, but I am in need of income. How does the GNU work if you borrow some open source code, write the rest yourself, and then sell it? I'm thinking about making a game that could help fund my open source projects, but I want to do it ethically.
Back on subject, a bomberman clone would be cool. I don't think I'd pay for one, but it would still be cool.

I am not sure I personally like the idea of someone profiting from somebody else's open source work...
cobrajs Make it free! After all, it will be your first released game. Then after a few add-ons and sequels and you have a good reputation then release a shareware version. Then who knows!

I think i'll make it free and release the source. Oh and CWolf_UK, this will not be my first released game, I already released four others. Two were shareware, and did not make it far. The third was free and got downloaded around 5,000. My first ever released was Pocket Pilot. It stunk. It was 600k to install, ran super-slow, and had the cheapest graphics ever. But, it was free and got downloaded over 8,000 times and got five star ratings! Weird, but I guess people just like freeware.
About the game... I am thinking about making it as a very open Bomberman game. I will make it have many maps, and a map editor. It will have many themes that can be customizable (I mean that you can arrange different backs and bricks and bombable bricks). It will also have (two fingers crossed) a scripting tool so that you can make your own ai. You will also be able to beam other players your script and make them battle. It will also have remote bombs, the building tool, bomb kicking (maybe), bomb-add, bomb-radius-add, and other things if I think of them. Everything will be animated and it will (hopefully) have good graphics. It will be hires and lores, color and greyscale, and support OS 5. It will also have a cool looking interface and customizable keys. In other words, it will blow the other Bomberman clones for the palm out of the water! And I hope that I can make it before the end of summer, or even before the end of June. I will make a shareware version so people can donate if they want to.
Also, theVariable, I think you should try out Razor. It is easy to learn, and can do anything in games. I could keep rambling on about it, but I think you should just look at the website.

Thanks. That should help get me started. Now I just have to give myself a crash course in C++. I know Java already, but it doesn't apply so well with Palm development. Especially games.
