hi all, i am looking for an English dictionary basically for spell checking :) Can anybody recommend a good one please ?

Have a look at this review by Tanker_Bob on PDA Buyers Guide. Tanker_Bob has done a very good review comparing several dictionary programs of BDicty, Mi:D, MSDict, Oxford American, and PocketLingo
This covers the major players in the dictionary business at the time of writing. It is a fair and balanced review too.

I second Punky's recommendation of the "PocketLingo American Heritage College Edition". Best English dictionary I have found for PalmOS - EVER. I've tried and bought just about everything out there, and the PocketLingo product continues to amaze me - and continues to be the one I refer to constantly.

PocketLingo is good, but not everyone spells strangely like you Americans! ;)
The two favourites I use are MSDict Oxford English Dictionary and PocketLingo College Dictionary. The nice thing about using these two dictionaries is that you can see where some of the origins of the words comes from.

I have used MSDict, Ultralingua and Mi: D but found all three wanting in either word definitions or user interface friendliness.

BTW - If you intend to buy a dictionary, I suggest that you buy a bundle like dictionary and thesaurus. It's better value! :)

I've been using the free Noah Lite for a couple of years. It has most of the words I've wanted to look up. I find it very handy to have a dictionary in my pocket and you can't beat free. Why not try this one for a while then decide if you need to spend $.
