I copied a video to my card. Now how do I view it?

Man does this UX50 make me feel stupid :(

It depends on what format you have the video in. It should have been converted with Sony's Image Converter application that was on the CD with your UX. You can take Quicktime movies and such and convert them to the MPEG format that your UX can play.
Once that's done, you use Movie Player and the video should show up in the list.

Oh, by the way, if you hadn't already done it, you need to start up the Data Import function on your UX before you can use the Image Converter utility to output the video to your handheld.

Thanks ham. I have all my UX software on my laptop, so I'll have to load it onto my desktop this morning.

I appreciate the advice!!

OK. I loaded up the image converter. Now I'm trying to convert a sample recording of about 10 seconds. When I try to "add to list" the selection (an mpeg file), I am getting a "selected files format is not supported" message.

Any thoughts?

Well, I'm not very fluent in the various movie file types, but it may be the wrong type. What type of video are you trying to convert? Here's the help file list from Image Converter:

You can convert image files recorded in the following formats to the formats compatible with your CLIÉ handheld.
Movie images: AVI, MPEG, and QuickTime-format movie files are converted into Movie Player-format files.

Still images: BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, and PGP-format still image files are converted into JPEG (DCF)-format files.

So, if it's one of those types, it should be working. Oh, and I do know it won't convert .wmv files. I had to get a third-party converter for that.

The file is already an MPEG file? I may be incorrect, but I think the Clies can't view MPEG4 files. So, Image Converter may not be able to convert it, either.
Can someone confirm this?

Got it. Thx again for the help ham. I was saving the video at dvd quality instead of vid cd quality.

I'm glad you got it to work! It's nice to discover new things on your handheld...
I love it!
