It really depends on what it is that you want from a case. I dont know if you are male or female but if you want to wear it on your belt, Nutshell is the best that I have found. If it is to go into a purse or carry in the car, Bellagio Designs might be best. Do you want to use all of the features while still in the case? Do you just want protection and then will take it out to use it?
If you can provide a bit more information on what your needs are, we can likely help.

I have one of the first cases Vaja made for NZ. It has a sturdy belt clip and can be used while in the case. but it need to be removed to charge or sync. I said one of the first cases, because it didn't have an cut out for memoryStick. So i don't know if it was a design flaw or a feature so you won't loose your MS withthe slightest bump.

Correct me if I am wrong but according to the Vaja site they case is 159 dollars. Too much. Is there any cases I can wear on my belt like an actually pouch were i can slip my palm in and out?

For $20, try this one (specify the large size. the pictured one is the small size),

I've been using this case for two years now and I still think it's the perfect case for my NZ90.

That was actually the case I was thinking of getting. Though I have herd that it is nice, it was however made to store the hard case. I was curious to know if there are any other holders that were created specifically or generally for the clie. If nothing else comes up I will probobly just get the rinoskin one. Thanks.

The Rhino-skin case isn't quite a hard shell, but it's pretty decent protection from minor bumps and bruises.
In the front, it has slots to put a couple of credit cards and cash. The credit cards act as a tough barrier for hits to the case from the front. There's a stiff piece of cardboard embedded into the back of the pouch (where the belt clip is), so the NZ is fairly well protected from a hit to the back of the case.
The corners and edges of the case aren't too bad. Since the case is made of canvas-like material, the corners are kind of square and stiff and will crumple a bit when they hit something, absorbing some of the shock of impact.
Notice that typical leather cases, that sell for $150, are usually form fitting and offer no "crumple zones". If you drop your PDA while in one of those cases, and it lands on a corner, the full force of the impact will be transferred to the PDA.
All in all, the Rhino-skin is a very rugged case. If the extent of your abuse is tossing it in your purse or backpack, it will do exceptionally well. If you suspect that you will be running over your NZ with your car or dropping it out the window, then you really do need a harder shell than this case offers.
Also, since the Rhino-skin is secured by a velcro flap, it is not particularly waterproof. It is somewhat water resistant, in that it has only one opening into the case, rather than the 5-6 smaller holes found in a leather case.
On the downside, you must take the NZ completely out of the case to use it or the camera. So, automatically wrapping the strap around my wrist as I take the NZ out of the case is second nature to me.
I tried several other cases and this one works best for the way I want to use my NZ.

From what you are describing, you really want a Nutshell http://www.tuff-as-nuts.com/SONY_NZ90-G,NX70-V,NX60-U,NX80-V.html
Their cases act as a pouch or come with a strap to make sure it doesn't fall out. The case is nice and snug though so you do not need the strap. If you do get the strap, be careful of good shirts. The velcro overhangs a bit and will put pulls in the shirt sleave when it touches it.

Krusell makes a case for around $20.00. A lot of them sold on EBay. Example:

Of course you want tank like protection for your NZ.
You cannot forget about the Pelican cases. ;)

i can't imagine how you folks go about using a case. the NZ90 is huge as is . . . . the finish on mine has held up very well, since i've carried it on the inside jacket pocket . . . . i guess being lined with some sorta silkish material helped a bit . . . .

I was thinking of making my one with some sort of rubber.
You know, like some multi-meters have rubber around there equipment.
A nice rubber fitting would be good for it. With all the buttons and keys still usable.
Ok something like this:

I bought one of the SENA cases 6 months ago and have been very happy with it. It holds my NZ, WL100, 2 memory sticks and has spare slots for 3 credit cards and some business cards. It doesn't add too much bulk to the unit, and I can still get it comfortable into an inside pocket. I believe it can be ordered with a clip, and cost me about $70.

Here's a vote for the cheapo camp. I bought a generic vinyl zip up PDA case for $7.99 US and it it's awesome. THere's room for spare battery, spare compact flash cards and even a usb sync cable. It's a little bulky but let's face it, every NZ owner ends up lugging around an extra battery if they use the camera at all. Plus it actually seals all the way around - less dust and no lost memory sticks.
Can't beat $7.99 but it is a little bulky.

I have an old HP calculator case, which is a !perfect! fit for the NZ90. It's all leather, attaches firmly to the belt with a leather LOOP, (not a clip which can let go) and has a pocket and a velcro flap.
Probably many different cases would work just fine.
