My T615C can only run for 2 hours - 3 hours Max from full charge. Is that normal?
Or is my battery going bad? How long is my battery supposed to last?

Is there a way to buy a digital camera to attach to my T615?

Thank you!

How long have you had your T615? The battery was rated when new at a little less than three hours use. The battery does lose life over the priod of its like so, if you'r T615 is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old, I would n't be suprised to find the battery giving your the performance you see. After about two years, the battery capacity really begins to fall of and by the end of the third years, its' ususally about 25% of it's original capacity.

You can help reveive the battery some by doing an in-cradle reset. With your T615 in the cradle and receiving a charge, do a soft reset, This can help recalibrate the battery monitoring circuit and give your battery a better charge. Doing this once every few months is a good idea.

And no, you can't attach a digital camera to your T615 unless you want to duct tape a real camera to it. :) The T series never had a camera MS and wouldn't have the battery power to run it even if it did.

I have a MS Camera for my T615 that I've been using for the past year. It does have a MS Camera available. It comes with a CD with drivers.

1. How do I do soft reset? The only reset I know is to poke the hole on the back.

2. What is the model number of the camera? can you tell me a little more in detail? how much did you get it for? where did you get it from?

Kind Regards,
Boii

Boii,

Poking it in the back is a soft reset.:)

As to the camera, hopefully the other poster can give you more information. I wasn't aware one existed at all. I have to wonder how good the quality can be seeing pictures from other Clie's with built-in cameras.

Here's a link to the camera on sonystyle:
http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=Qn7uE696CtvuC-_MPxXkGOBr3U8MlrYyR58=?ProductSKU=PEGAMSC1%2fR
You might have to copy and paste that together if it gets cut up...
Anyway, it will work fine and the $56 refurbished price is pretty good. They were still $100 on ebay a few months ago. Remember though that the quality absolutely sucks: 320x240, smaller than your pda screen.

a) Yup, sadly T6x5 series Clie have really crappy batterylife - Brand new mine could barely manage 2 hours with the backlight on (3.5hr if off!)

b) You can buy Sony CameraStick (If they still sell!) but my advice is not to bother - It is absolute crap; Pictures very grainy due to CCD noise and resolution is far too low (People complain about TH55 having a low-res camera; CameraStick is even lower!!!)

Hi,

My clie will be three this summer, and it too is a T615. I have noticed the battery drains quite quickly and I just bought a Targus keyboard for the thing.. works like a charm.

Here is my question..

Should I need a new battery for it... how do I go about GETTING one? What is the cost? Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Tara

I replaced the battery in mine with one I got from ebatts.com:
http://ebatts.com/product.asp?part=B-8616&Model=3333960&Manufacturer=312&use=3.7%20Volt%20Li-Polymer%20PDA%20Battery
It's was fairly painless.

Another site you can get it cheaper from is here:
http://store.l-f-l.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?rrc=N&pg=prod&ref=LIS1228
The advantage of this second site is that they provide the tool, whether it be a specialized screwdriver (can't remember) necessary to take the case apart. I think I just used a pocket knife :P
Plus, here are some step-by-step picture instructions replacing the battery. They are the same ones I followed.
http://store.l-f-l.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?rrc=N&pg=prod&ref=LIS1228
Just remember not to be too rough when taking the case apart. Good luck!

Thats a point - does anyone know if anyone made a rechargable battery-slef for T-series Clies in the end?

That'd be waaay better than just replacing that silly low-cap battery...
