I've been looking around the Internet trying to find a way to beat Sony's outrageous $175 quote on a cracked digitizer. Afterall, the glass is the only part cracked, the LCD screen is in perfect condition. I found one place that claims a $80 service and parts fee and $10 for shipping (both ways). However, other sites have said that nobody except Sony can repair the T-615. Anyone know of somewhere that might carry the digitizer (I can replace it myself, if need be) or offers repair services for this model? Any leads, whatsoever, are appreciated! Or, better yet, anyone out there have a T-615 they've had to replace the digitizer or screen on?

Where did you buy your T615?

BestBuy-- i have a three-year replacement plan but they don't cover screen impacts, only LCD malfunctions. and, apparently, the glass would be covered under the Sony one-year warranty except the digitizer/LCD is a package deal. how about that for cheating the consumer: the glass is covered, but you have to replace the LCD screen, which isn't covered...

ouch...I had a messed up digitizer but it was not cracked and they took it back without a question...they are very picky about what they do and do not cover
