Hi, does know of a way to attach a picture to an address in the address book? That would be so neat!

Use PictureGear on your PC to send photos to the Clie. Use AddressBook to edit an entry. Tap on the "Image" area and select a photo.

I had no idea how to do it until I looked it up in the manual about three minutes ago. All I saw in the "Address Book" section was something about the ability to paste a PictureGear image in... So I went from that. But it worked pretty slick!

Correct. When you have any address book entry open in edit mode "no image" will be shown in the upper right. Tapping on the "no image" will bring up all the pictures that are in the images directory on the MS. Tapping on an image will put it in the address book for that entry.

This is not a link. The picture is copied as a small file into your internal memory. You can see this with Clie Files. They are listed as AddrImgXXXX and take up a bit of memory. Most of the ones on my NX70 are around 6 to 7 k, one is 10.4K. Once you put a picture into your address book you do not need to keep it on the MS. If you delete the image from the MS you will still have that small copy in your address book because it is that seperate file in internal memory.

The pictures do not have to be imported with picturegear. You can take them with the NX70 camara or drop any jpg picture on your HotSync computer onto your MS (Images directory) using MS import.

Now the big question...

Are there any third party apps that do the same thing?

I'm using Supernames right now... but I have no problem switching to something else.

I just checked it in ContactsPro (Mobimate).  The image doesn't show up in the first screen of the contact, but if you tap anywhere on the screen at that point it takes you into the "AddressView" in the OS Address Book where it does show up.

So I guess it's 'no not really' for images in ContactsPro.

If there's anyone here from Mobimate....This would be a nice feature for the next release...

I think everyone should e-mail Red Mercury, the makers of Acid Image, imploring them to make an address book application. That's what I've been trying at least. ;)

Ya nice feature to attach a picture to an Address entry.
But every time I sync with Outlook, the pics are stripped off!
