I have an opportunity to buy an open box NX73V for only 240. Is that a good deal over the TH55 which I was planning on for what it sells now? (400).
The only disadvantages that I can think of are: only 11MB in RAM (I have a 256MB card though); it's thicker, keyboard might seem like a hassle to some (I like actually holding the NX models in my hand open when reading over how you would hold a TH for instance); shorter battery life and older OS (5.0 and not 5.2.1). I don't need the TH organizer datebook because I use Datebk5.
What do you think. I can save 160 is my bottom line so I am inclined to by the NX.

i recommend you buy a TH55 instead because of the wifi feature plus the 32MB build in RAM, it's pure 32MB of RAM not like NX73, it said it's 16MB but it's actually 11MB.

older OS (5.0 and not 5.2.1).
Actually, the older OS is a bit of an advantage, because I suspect there are more apps that natively support the NX's older Hi-Res+ API than those that support the new Palm DIA API. As far as I know, there is no advantage to an end-user of OS 5.2, apart from support for 32mb RAM.
Depending on your intended use, the higher speed of the NX73C will be an advantage. For instance, I suspect that searching through big e-books would be significantly faster on the NX. (Especially, but not only, if overclocked. :-) ) Ditto nice anti-aliased text rendering in Plucker and PalmBible+, if one goes in for that.

Another option is the NX80 for $299, I think Sony is selling refurbs at that price.
I think it comes down to 2 factors-
1. Is the NX larger size okay for you?
2. Do you want a keyboard?
If you answer yes to those questions, the NX is a good deal. But keep in mind if you want Wifi you'll end up spending close to another $100 for the WLAN card.
Finally, search around and you will find the TH55 for much less than $400 (closer to $350 or so).

I had a TH-55, it ended up junking out on me. Instead of having Circuit City fix it for me, I ended up with an NX-80. I really feel it's the better machine. I like the keyboard for writing long bits, the camera is noticeably better, and the app/up down buttons make Nesem (at least certain games) actually playable without a PEGA-GC10. Plus, $100 less. Considering the price-drop-dance the UX series has been doing, I'm sure the 55 will be under $300 by Xmas. Why pay a premium price? There's nothing it can do that the 80 can't. Out of the box, sure, no Wi-Fi, but as far as I'm concerned, penetration of free service is laughable thusfar, plus for $50 you can get it if you really want it. Still cheaper.
