I am getting ready to get a new digital camera and am trying to decide which to get. Olympus c-50 v. Sony DSC-P9.
I have a NR70. I want to know if I will be able to pull the memory stick directly from the Sony camera and view the images on the Clie.
The reason I am wondering this is that I think that the olympus is a better camera, but if I could use the clie to directly view images, it would be a bonus, and may sway my decision.
Thanks,
Gordon

In my opinion, you should go with the SONY DSC-P9. That's the most compact digicam in its class (4 MP). I ordered one from DELL and waiting for it to be delivered...
As for veiwing the pictures on your NR70: Camera creates and saves the pictures in a specified folder in the memory stick. As long as you have a jpeg viewer (e.g., YiShow, AcidImage, etc) to access that folder, you should have no problem viewing the pix on your CLIE. Depending on the size of the pictures, it may take a while to open them though :)

I have a DSC-P7, it has an option to create an e-mail version/copy of each picture in a small resolution so, the pictures can be viewed very fast. Their quality is not great. The hi-res pictures take around 1 min to open with Acid Image.
Since my Vaio has an MS slot, it's also very easy to transfer all the picutures or see a slideshow instantaneously from the card.

I strongly recommend the Sony camera. I have used both and prefer the Sony model myself. Maybe it is just my Sony bias showing, but I am a big fan of their cameras. The memory sticks will be compatible so you can easily swap them between the units. As mentioned earlier, you will need a JPG viewer.

Just in case you decide on DSC-P9, Dell is selling it for $424.15 (15% off), shipped free, no tax in most states. They dont have it in stock at the moment, but the price is sweet :)
In fact, you can save another $25 if you open a Dell Prefered Account and pay using that (expires 3/31).
Few days ago, I found an additional "one-day only" stackable Dell coupon online... After adding it all, I ordered one for $360.
Just to let you know...
Cheers!

I personally would go with the olympus. It's a much better camera and you don't have to deal with memory sticks. Smart media is cheap and many companies make it. Check the lens sizes of both cameras... actually, the one with the larger lens apature is probably better for indoor and low light settings. I have had lots of digital cameras and was very frustrated with the graininess of the indoor shots. One I got a camera with a large lens apature, the pictures got a lot better.
I am on my 4th Olympus camera and enjoyed using each one as I upgraded. The truth is that I take the pictures, download them to my computer, edit them and then make the ones I want to cary on my Clie into smaller JPEG files. This way I can carry unlimited amounts of pictures. I use Acid Image as a viewer... it's great.
I have a friend with a Sony and he isn't extremely satisfied with it.
Just my thought.
