Hi everyone

A week ago I bought an sj20 for my 14 year old son. I liked it so much I decided to get one for myself.

As an aspiring novelist I thought it would be great to have a PDA with a list of publishers and magazine editors, plus have a way to record those instances of inspiration no matter where I am.

Today I negoatiated a deal on a second hand sj30 (limited edition white one), and I am picking it up tonight.

The seller suggested that I might want to replace the screen protector as the current one has been on since he bought in 17 months ago.

My question is: do I really need to? It is recommended that we replace the screen protectors on a regular basis?

I would appreciate your responses?

Thank you.

it depends on what condition the protector is, if you can still see through it and it dosent impair the screen just leave it on, if on the otherhand its scratched and you cant see through it get a new one. Id recomend the official sony ones, but many of the gang here have thier own ideas. do a search and read all the comment s about it.

ya, as kalioon said, it depends what condition its in and what kind of protector it is. Some are designed to be replaced every month (so if its been on for 17 months its probably time for a replacement), while some are washable, and are designed to be reused, but either way, just have a look at it, and replace if you feel it looks too scratched up...

Thanks for your replies.
I picked up my sj30 and gotta say: Wow! She's a beauty!
The screen protector looks like someone has scrubbed something back and forth across it as it is covered in fine lines, but not so bad I can't see through it. Might replace it anyway because it wasn't put on straight and does not quite cover the whole screen like my son's does.
Speaking of my son...the second I got in the door and showed my kids (son 14 yrs, daughter 12 yrs) the PDA and the 4 mb memory stick the seller had thrown in my son instantly took off with the memory stick and put it in his own sj20!
Bonus: I got the CD and manuals with the PDA (you don't usually get those with a second hand one) and they are for both the sj20 and sj30, so now we have manuals and CD for both mine and my son's PDAs.
I'm 41 years old, and I've turned into a gadget freak...just goes to show that age doesn't mean a darn thing.....though I am stoked to be a 'Junior Member' of the forum. Makes me feel....oh....at least 36.
