Hi all

I have purchased a new TH55 with Bluetooth but seem to have problems engaging the BT.

As per the manual I went to <prefs> <bluetooth> and tapped on <enable> bluetooth. A message came up saying
"Unable to initialize the bluetooth hardware"

I pressed ok to exit the screen and tried tapping on the Bluetooth icon bottom of the screen and tapped on <Power on (waiting for signal)>. The bluetooth light flashed once and a message appeared saying
"Could not change networks because of unknown error".
I pressed ok to exit and went back top the <prefs> <bluetooth> screen and noted that the bluetooth was now <enabled>.

I exited this screen, clicked on the bluetooth icon again received the same eror message

"Could not change networks because of unknown error".

Am I doing something wrong or do I have a hardware failure on a brand new TH55? Has anyone experienced this problem?

Thank you

Steve

Not had this problem. However when I tried just syncing from my Palm OS 4 device the TH55 would not work at all!!!

Did you do a clean install of just your date book, memo pad and to do list? Or, did you sync from an older device? If the latter try a hard reset and see if the BT works before performing a sync for your data. Try a sync and see if it now does not work. If it does not and you did not do a clean install use the Sony Migration tool to move the key stuff across as instructed (after another hard reset). You can add all your beloved old programs by syncing them and they will probably work.

Good luck

I loaded my laptop with the new Sony software and synced my old NX70 stuff onto my TH55. This is when I discovered the bluetooth problem.
I tried a soft reset but the problem persisted and then carried out a hard reset, never did a sync and then tried BT again. Same problem.

Could it be power settings on the TH55 preventing the BT from switching on?

Steve

Just to inform the forum that my Bluetooth problem was in fact a hardware failure and I have snce swopped it out for a new unit that functions perfectly well.

Thank you
