(This is my first post to cliesource. )

I have found the Slap utility very useful as a way of jotting down quick notes, reminders, and to-do's during the day, and easily viewing them on this one little scratchpad.

However, to make this application even more useful, I would like to be able to have it pop up first thing whenever I turn on my Clie -- sort of like having an app in the startup folder on a Windows PC.

Does anyone know of a utility that can automatically start an app whenever the Clie is turned on?

Thanks,
Dan

Why won't you assign it to a button instead? Whenever you'll press the button, even if your CLIE is off, it'll turn on and open this app.

That's a good observation, Net0a0, one that never even occurred to me.

I am all in favor of using the built-in functionality whenever that is possible.

Thanks for pointing this out.

You can try a hack called EasyLaunch that allows you to lauch up to 3 different apps from a single button depending on how long you press the button. Works great and saves a lot of time.

Try WASSSSUPPPP! (http://palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=240DC91A-D327-47C0-BE83C4ACF48E2C1E&prodID=42044) ;)

It's only $5.00. This is one cool startup utility. Whenever I turn on the Clie, it pops up today's date, appointment list, ToDo list, emails, battery status, memory status, and 5 favorite app icons. I assign a hold and hold long ToDo button for it too with EasyLaunch. The XP skin is really cool.

Another similar app isToday 1.8 (http://palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=240DC91A-D327-47C0-BE83C4ACF48E2C1E&prodID=38922). It's free but It is not stable on my Clie. It crashes after I tried to restore my RAM from MS, even after I put it in ROM. Not worth the agravation.
