I recently bought a 64 MB compact flash card in an auctions website (advertised as new). I don't have an NX, I bought it for my camera. The thing is that it showed over 13 MB of space used, and after inserting in my brothers ipaq, it showed some weird info. I know that sometimes media is not the same size as advertised for different reasons, but 13 MB is too much. What's the usual available space in 64MB CF?

Well, if it's really new then you got ripped off. There should be about 62 mb's available on a 64 mb card. It sounds like this card was used in some other device that had a different OS. You should be able to reformat it either in the camera or your Sony and reclaim the space however.

Just reformat the card and check the values afterwards.

I'll reformat after this guy answers my email. I just converted the data to windows 32 bit and it looks work related. Maybe he needs it back and will ship me a new one, then again, may be not.

Hucsman : good thing that you plan to get in touch with this guy - only recently a guy who ordered a MP3 player got a .5 calibre Smith and Western :) .. imagine that  ... ideally I think Jim is right - it should be 2MB max. Hope he replaces it ... :)
